Guinness shortage

Will try Mulligans next time I'm in town, thanks.
Although I've got to say (whilst risking the start of the old debate), that I do prefer a Dublin Guinness ;-)
It definitely tastes different in Ireland.
Maybe they look after it better, or they shift more of it so it's not hanging around for long.
I don't recall ever having a dodgy pint on the emerald isle, wether in Dublin or out in the sticks.

Yep, 'Prime Mutton' says exactly the same thing ..... he reckons the Irish have it off to a fine art, and they definitely serve the best pint ..... and he should know, he's done enough pub crawls there!

I think there’s a bit of a misconception or misunderstanding about Guinness outside of Ireland.

Supposedly, because we drink so much more of it over here it’s more “fresh” when poured….in England (or elsewhere) because it isn’t drunk as much, the Guinness lies in the pipes for longer…so you’re getting shitty stout in your pint.

My old man reckoned it didn't travel very well, but that was when it was brewed exclusively at the gate, before park Royal.
I don't really know for sure the reasons, maybe the water softness/ quality, but it's definitely a better tasting pint in Ireland, without doubt.
I know people who won't touch it over here, but if they visit Ireland, they absolutely love it.
Got to be something to it.

Had a pint on Wednesday in Colin Bell Level 2. Not sure how long it’s been on draft for in there but made a change to the flat lager they usually serve. Is it available elsewhere in the ground?

The great thing about Guinness compared to lager is you don’t spend half the night out in the Jax.

Now the next day is a different matter.

Being reported that could be shortage of Guinness leading up to Christmas. I just had the 2 on my Friday lunchtime visit. One Belfast pub owner talking about charging £10 a pint. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cx2v5z0wvwzo
What kind of thick twats take any notice of anything a fucking influencer says.
What is the world coming too

“Split the G!”
People will follow anything!!

Some bars are serving it in glasses with their own name on the glass and telling punters to “Split the …” on the glass! Of course, they’re printing their names lower on the glass to get you to quaff more!

People are fucking mental sheep!

There is a problem with Guinness supply currently , don’t take it out on your local pub, it’s not their fault. Consider trying a different stout or porter during this period. Some of the British and other Irish nitro (important that it’s nitro or cask) stouts and porters are surprisingly good.

Mulligans off Deansgate takes the piss, its about 7 quid a pint in there.

Any idea what caused the recent surge in popularity with the annoying "split the g' tossers? Was only a few years ago I was being mocked for drinking Guinness, being told its like drinking a pint of gravy etc

Pint of Guinness in Mulligans isn't as good as it used to be. It's now on a finger pump fat too cold for my liking. You are right they are taking the piss with the price of it

Can you get Murphy’s in Britain?
It’s sweeter, not as bitter and a bit easier on the stomach, the next morning.
