Gundogan - Back training 26th June '17

If Bild is right then he's out for the rest of the season and back at the start of next season. The only good news being that Yaya looks in the best condition he's been since 2011-12.

I dont think he's been as good ever. The work rate he put in the other night was phenomenal. With Gondogan out I expect and hope Yaya will become our Tevez and turn things around

Having watched him for 20 odd games playing for Pep now, I don't think he was bought for his passing. Stones passing is decent but it's not Boateng or Bonucci good - those long raking balls pinged out to the wing. Don't think I've ever seen Stones really hit a great ball like that, or those long ground passes that cut out the entire midfield.

I didn't like the new Perinau book particularly but I think the quotes from Pep and his team are brilliant and There's a quote in it from Domenec Torrent that talks about how Pep values midfielders in defence because if one of your defenders can beat a man and carry the ball out "with force" then it can provide huge impetus to the entire team to go forwards quickly and break down a defence.

That is the one thing I think Stones really is a class above in. He beats the first defender and then strides into midfield so often and so easily even compared to those world class defenders Pep has had before and I can only think that's the one thing that Caught Peps eye compared to other players we could have bought with that money.

Stones might not contribute much in the way of long passing, but his short passing is superb. Always perfectly weighted in front of the recipient so they never have to break stride

Yes because they're the players who've proved themselves good enough, and are not raw kids now. The kids who don't end up good enough wouldn't be worth buying, obviously. Let someone else get shitty results while kids prove themselves, I'd rather have the finished article and win games.

Because finished articles have worked wonders for us over the past 2 seasons?

Reckon we should just do away with the academy and simply follow the protocol of merely buying every player for the rest of our existence?

Question: How else does Garcia prove he's good enough? Any time he's played, in cup matches or cameo appearances, has he let the team down in any way? What makes you think we will completely combust all of a sudden should we dare to start one of the best players from one of the best academy's in the world?

Odd he walked off if it is six monther, but Walcott v Spurs in the cup did not look very serious with his jestures and ended up serious. The 'same knee' and totally different injury suspected, much better to wait and see.

Just that, pep will no doubt comment tomorrow at 2pm

Whatever the diagnosis he is not likely to play very much again this season. Not sure how much he will be missed he is one of those players
who don't really stand out yet may fulfill an important role in the overall. It does appear that he is yet another City recruit who is injury prone and all in all
can't see him making much of a contribution in the future if this is a 6-8 month lay off. I suppose that was reflected in the relatively small price we paid for him back in June.
It could not have come at a worse time really and December is fast turning into a cruel month for us this latest blow probably kills off any lingering hopes of glory this campaign.

Guess Garcia is gonna be getting more game time now then unless we decide to buy a midfielder in January.

you didn't think it was a risk when we bought him? Ah well, how many points did and will he help us get ~ 20mill

If we have an upturn in form while he's out then Pep needs to have a long think why, since he arrived in the side we haven't been as good IMO.
