1) I said really clearly that the roles didn't match up and I wasn't trying to match them.
2) Gotze a benchwarmer? No that simply isn't true. He started 40 games last year, he's started nearly all the games he's been fit for last year. His problem is not a lack of quality, it's mainly been injury and the fact he's not a winger, and he's not Muller. So he's not as effective as Robben/Ribery on the wings, and he's not going to play off Lewandowski like Muller. There isn't a spot for a traditional 10 in this Guardiola Bayern, so actually if he replicates that here, Silva will be in a similar position.
4)Kimmich is a great young prospect, but he looked pretty out of place when he cost Bayern 2 goals vs. Juventus in the first leg - who are 1 of 2 good teams he's actually played against. Why exaggerate?
5) Aleix Garcia doesn't just play "simple passes" That's just not true, anyone who watches any amount of the EDS games could tell you that. And he's clearly told to sit deep, but has shown an ability and drive to go forward when needed to, which you would know if you really did watch the u21 derby because in the last 15 minutes when we needed a goal, it was him popping up in the box drawing a couple of good saves from their keeper to keep it at 1-0.
And lastly I don't know if you read the news at all but City briefed the entire national press we were interested in Kroos just yesterday. That's why I mentioned him.
You've really taken my post to heart haven't you? I'd relax mate, its a forum based on opinions,
If the current Bayern Manager or incoming manager picked Bayerns best x11 from the current squad, with all fit, you can not tell me Gotze would start
Its common knowledge that he hasnt reached anywhere near the form of his Dortmund days there, so the jury is still out. I've no doubt about his quality at all, but again I think you've looked too much into what I meant
Kimmich did not look out of place. He made a basic mistake for one of the goals (second one I believe). The first one could've been avoided by the whole back 4, so again I have no idea why you would blame him for that
He was MOTM against Dortmund, who are probably in better form that BM at the moment and wouldnt look out of place in the QF of the CL, never mind europa league, so again I dont quite know why youve totally avoided them from your thoughts,
I have no doubt Kimmich will play a major role in Bayern reaching the Semis at least...whereas Alexi Garcia will have played no role in our season whatsoever, besides the experiment at Chelsea,
Ok I take on board that you werent totally matching the players and apologise for that. My argument was that Garcia and Kimmich are worlds, worlds, worlds apart right now
I do watch U21 games and have taken in a fair few prior to games at home this year and inparticular the UYL games,
I repeat my point, to ME (Thats my opinion, not yours, so relax), he is the kind of player who can make himself look like hes having a half decent game, but the team would probably be better off with someone who makes more of an impact to the team. His positional play may be what is asked of him, and if so, thats probably not helping the lad himself. But there have been numerous games this year where he has sat so deep that his own team mates have been CLEARLY agitated by him, and it has allowed sides to dominate citys EDS through the middle in 6/7 out of 10 games.
That side has some real potential, but its the electric pace the forwards have on the break and quality of the 3v3 they play with that gets them results,
Strangely enough, the first team has the same problem..
