Gundogan

We shouldn't be signing anyone who's had as bad a run of injuries as Gundogan.

Great player. Yes. But what use is it when we'll have our best players (him, Aguero and Kompany) sidelined for most of the season.

I'm not following your logic. Are you saying that if a player is injured at point of sale, we should walk away? What happens when they recover a week or two later when they are fit again. For me, all players will get injured at one point or another, most are back at it sooner than later
The concern is obviously with serious injuries not minor knocks. Do all players make a full recovery from serious injury?

Source Transfer markt

6 months our for his knee

Didn 12 months out for his back

Really can't afford to waste a squad position on someone like that

17mil seems a very good price for such a talent midfield player but if he's out until mid Oct(as reported by Bild), can we afford to carry a player on the squad for half a season? We really need to start the season with a full squad so feel we'd still need to buy another midfielder...

City have retained their interest in Gundogan in spite of his injury. Dortmund will not stand in his way if a £17m offer comes-in. [Bild]

Gundogan is expected to be fit again by mid-October. His transfer to City 'should still be completed.' [Kicker]

I'd still take him even if he's out til mid October. He's a top player we could have for years. We could sign someone else and lose them to a freak injury at the start of the season for all we know.
