Gushing over royals

No they didn't stay with their subjects. They fucked off to Windsor and Churchill effectively ordered them back, by slyly mentioning the monarchy would be in danger otherwise.

No they never.
They stayed at Buck Palace and the girls went to Windsor.
They served their country well and lifted our fine nation in it's hour of need.
You are not fit to lace of their shoes young man.

Harried them really.
I always felt that the use of the term 'harrying' for the killing of nearly 50% of some communities, the stealing of the best land and the poisoning of the rest to inculcate starvation was a bit of political whitewash.
BTW, my grandfather was a tin miner in the Duchy of Cornwall. When the tin ran out he and his family were unceremoniously evicted from their tied cottage. He finished up running a whelk stall in Filbert Street, Leicester, of all places. But they are SO gracious when they use their power to help us, don't you think ?

Well thanks for young man"......I'm 70 years old. Perhaps you may care to re read my post. The parents only stayed at Buck house when advised that otherwise the monarchy would be in danger. All the stuff about refusing to go was created post 1945 when a revolution was feared. It's called propaganda. Churchill also covered up the collusion of the then Ed 8 with the nazi regime.

I've been taught not to argue with my elders so I'll respectfully agree to disagree with your republican stance.

I'm glad it upsets you that your dream of a republic won't happen in your life time.
Now you're making stuff up. 1 I don't dream of a Republic. 2 So it's failure to materialise can't upset me.
Your robust defence of monarchy is fine....I just don't agree with it.

Where is the evidence to support your stance. This isnt Kings landing.
He was a man of great honour and would never desert his people in their hour of need.
Chinese whispers created to appease the unappeased.
After reading your repost I am half expecting Petyr Baelish to dramatically appear in all his wiley splendour .

For a start you could try Alison Weir, historian. She maintains that they slept every night at Windsor, not Buck house

It's mainly used to pay for the upkeep of palaces on a day to day basis and pay the staff so in effect all going straight back into the economy.

Was more interested to know what great acts of philanthropy they carry out with that massive stash of cash accrued over the years.
I would like to know the security bill for this bunch of dossers though if you have th'accounts to hand.

No, I think you were trying to be clever and failed.

Do your own research but I bet you £100 that their security bill is (again) more than covered by The Crown Estate's income.
