Gustavo

Cazorla-Gustavo-Wilshire as a midfield three would be very formidable.

If they get Suarez in and a center half to play alongside Koscielny then they will be challenging in my opinion.

If they can get Cesar in as a keeper as well them that would be hugely beneficial for them.

With the right team Wenger can work wonders.

I was thinking of the PL managers, Wenger is probably most similar to our MP?

An awful lot of ifs in this scenario - thankfully.

Still think Arsenal are a long way off challenging. They certainly have a good foundation. Clearing out the deadwood and showing a supposed intention in the transfer market again is a promising sign and we all know what Wenger can do. I thought Cesar was an inevitability to be honest but that's calmed down a bit. Did some good business in fucking Gervinho off to Serie A for almost all of what they paid, but Gustavo would be a top signing, just what their midfield needs. Gustavo, Wilshere and Cazorla is a well balanced and hugely talented midfield. But in addition to those two hypothetical signings I just mentioned they also need a world class forward, a top winger and another centre back. And that's before we ask the question: Do they have what it takes to sustain a full challenge? they have finished well in recent years but mid-season results have been dodgy for them at times.

Surprised they weren't in for Soldado to be honest.

Wish we were in for this guy, but looks like we're settling for keeping Garcia.

I think the issue is, even if we wanted to sell Garcia (it wouldn't surprise me if we've offered him to clubs this summer) there is likely to be a shortage of buyers as we will have given him a wage hike probably beyond what he's worth (even if not as stupid as some of our former wages). Every Spanish club except those too good for him is too poor to take him back home.

Someone really messed up when scouting this guy.

Skim reading over this thread, I can't see one mention of Milner in there. I rate him as a potential world class defensive midfielder as he gets older. He reads the game well, gets about, strong in the tackle and his short and long range passing are second to none. Plus he can shoot from distance. It's about time our coaches started to realise he's not a winger, or is there only me who can see this?
