Is that the one with a punctuation deficit disorder?

You are talking about a different book!
However, i think your comment is a bit harsh
Very few people in life get a book published - Rodney did.
Rodneys book was very raw, but was fairly easy for the reader to get the jist of things.
Mickeys book is easy to find, Rodneys isnt........you have done very well to confuse the two!

In all fairness, Micky struggled to string a sentence together in his book!

Rodney's book was re-published by Empire Publications (who did my Teenage Kicks) with all the errors wiped out of history......

excellent read, think I may start reading it again on my kindle on the journey to Wembley or the Mike doyle book which I have never read

Both books are interesting and for those not around in those days give an insight into the violence, both casual and organised that was part and parcel of going to a game in those days. Some went looking for a fight but most just wanted to go to the game, have a drink and a banter and get home in one piece.Violence however often came upon you whether you wanted it or not, especially at away games.

I was suprised how the publishers put Rodneys book into print. It was a very hard read because it was like they just copied and printed someone's notes written on bits of paper, complete with all the errors, instead of arranging it properly.

It seems odd now seeing those dark times returning here and there in flashes at games,Cardiff and Chelsea in the cup spring to mind.It is a worrying trend because this is how it sparked off years ago.People fed up with other clubs fans arriving on your patch and ground and taking liberties decided to do something about it and so got together to stop it happening. This then escalates and the police have to nip it in the bud quickly or we will be back to square one before we know it.

Didn't like it to be honest. Found it a bit flat and same old story. The best hooligan book I read was Scally by Andy Nicholls, an Everton yob. Good stories and a funny read, I'd recommend it.

Scally is a good read too but sometimes on reading it you would think they could have solved the whole worlds problems and still emerged unscathed, lol!

Rodney's book will be self-published. In a nutshell, you pay to have the book published and them recoup a little bit from every sale. It won't have sold more than a hundred or so I'd guess, whereas Mickey Francis's book is always In print and will have sold tens of thousands,

I have the first copy of Rodneys book. The one that is impossible to read but I've since learned it's been reprinted with all the errors sorted out so I'm looking forward to having a read of that. Mickeys book seems like it's been around for years. Still always interesting to pick up every now and then though.
