Haaland the great

Insane numbers. 9 in the Premier League. 28 in 20 app. this season if you include the CWC. Whoscored regard that as this season. I am not so sure where the CWC officially sits.

The goal he scored at Brentford was incredible. No one else in the Premier League scores that goal.

The Brentford Goal Haaland scored was the new Haaland, The first couple of seasons Haaland never really used his power to bully defenders, Now you can see he's been working on his body strength and can be a beast

That goal was extraordinary but Haaland has always used his power in his game. You might be able to argue that Haaland can use that part of his game more this season if City's passing game is getting quicker. I have the impression this is so but I don't know it would be measured.

There was a compilation on FB this morning of his goals where he's "bullied" the defenders, it's extraordinary how when marked by 2 or even 3 defenders he doesn't stop and come back as almost all attackers would, but just continues by either bulldozing them out of the way or he just rides the challenges and gets his shot off. I can't remember offhand any striker who could do that.

If yer put two or three on Doku he has to beat all of' 'em. Put two or three on Haaland and he only has to bulldoze one and they become skittles, knocking each other over. But he can use both shoulders and take two out like he did with those Brentford suckers.

Some people on here didn’t rate him.
Certainly plenty in the media didn’t rate him. It was blindingly obvious from his time at Dortmund that he was one of the best. His first games for us were spectacular. You have to be in the stadium to understand his sheer power and pace. Erling in full flow is a breathtaking sight. I have never seen anyone like him in 50 years of watching live matches. The nearest would be peak Shearer.

The Brentford goal was pure power and bossing the defender to make the goal, Haaland scores little from this type of goal,if he can add 10 more of that type of goal, then 50 goals a season is minimum

Already on his way to the best ever seen in the prem but alas will never get the plaudits he deserves because he plays for us Look how Jack is now lauded because he ISNT playing for us

Astonishing goal scorer. Untouchable and he ended up loving city.

Dreams can come true… -:)

To be fair - when Jack played for us he DIDNT play for us... That was the problem !

I know but contracts can be bought and I wouldn't trust RM 1 Bit
Mbappe will be Madrid’s #9 until he retires. They’re spending £27.3m a year on his contract (that’s more than we’re paying Haaland). It’s becoming Mbappe’s team there now. It was a toss up between Haaland or Mbappe a few years ago for them, Haaland didn’t want to go there so they went for Mbappe. Haaland wont be going there.

There are very few clubs who could afford Haaland, anyway. There are very few clubs or leagues Haaland would consider n’all. It’s not like decdes gone by where Serie A and La Liga were on a par with or better than the PL, so the idea of losing someone to clubs in those leagues was a true threat.

Bayern never pay the sort of transfer fees or wages it would require and I doubt Haaland would want to drop back down to the Bundesliga.
Paris could afford him but I doubt Haaland would want to drop down to the French league.
There are some huge Italian clubs but none of them could afford him and even if they could I doubt Haaland would want to drop down to Serie A.
Newcastle, even if they start to become a top side winning titles in a few years, I can’t see it. Chelsea, I can’t see it. Liverpool, just spent £110m on Isak. United, haha! Arsenal, I reckon Haaland hates them more than any other team.

It pretty much leaves one club - Barcelona.

Lewandowski will need replacing soon and they will want Haaland. However, they couldn’t afford him with their current financial situation (unless they borrow money and pay it back from revenue generated off their new stadium, which will bring in huge money).

Plus, La Liga is a drop down from the PL these days. It’s not a particularly strong league anymore. Would Haaland even want to drop down? The pull there would be playing for a club that big, in a stadium that big and that good, for El Classicos and CL nights. Is that enough?

Haaland is on course to challenge Jimmy Greaves for the most top-flight goals in English football, at a time where the PL is head and shoulders the best league in the world. The only way I see Haalnd wanting to leave that is if City aren’t buying the quality of players to play around him to keep us a title challenging team.

Thats a good update
Seems like the Media as usual have other ideas

Talking of Jimmy Greaves’ top flight league goals record (357 goals)…

Haaland has scored 94 PL goals so needs to score another 264 goals or an average of 29.4 goals a season for the remainder of his contract.

Realistic. Especially if he has a few seasons like his first PL season (36 PL goals) like Lewandowski had in his prime at Bayern with 34, 41 then 35 league goals in consecutive seasons.

Why would anyone be talking about Haaland potentially leaving? He's just signed a 10 years contract extension. It hardly screams that he's itching to leave, does it...
Tryna unsettled him, he's gone from doesn't get involved enough to not as good as Berbatov in the space of a few weeks. The next line they will peddle is were not a big enough club for him which has already started on Talkshite. Ultimately Erling will decide his fate which will be based on our competitiveness in my opinion.
Best Goalscorer City have had which gloriously pisses off the absolute clowns in the Red Cartel Media.

He loves Manchester, he loves the club, he is scoring goals in the best league in the world, and heading for the World Cup with Norway. He says in his biography he regards Manchester as his home city and has a soft spot for Leeds (his birthplace). He says he dreamed of playing in England from being a very young child. Long may it last.
