Yeah that’s where the argument falls apart isn’t it! Haha!It wasn't shoulder to shoulder
It was an attempted shoulder to shoulder and the player leaned in front of him denying him the shoulder. I think it's a bit disingenuous to claim he wasn't attempting a fair challenge. You don't say "it wasn't a sliding tackle" when they don't get the ball. Clearly you can see what they were attempting in both instances. It wasn't shoulder to shoulder
Where is the ball?
Where did I "claim" anything, I stated a fact, the impact wasn't shoulder to shoulder so it's a foul. Whether a player "attempts a fair challenge" or not doesn't come into it in the context of that incident. He didn't attempt to play the ball, which was key to the red card.It was an attempted shoulder to shoulder and the player leaned in front of him denying him the shoulder. Correct decision, harsh rule IMO. I think we are allowed an opinion on that aren't we?
All late tackles would then not be fouls if it was an attempt at a fair tackle.Where did I "claim" anything, I stated a fact, the impact wasn't shoulder to shoulder so it's a foul. They would still be fouls, of course, but not always a red card, hence my "context" comment. All late tackles would then not be fouls if it was an attempt at a fair tackle.
