We've put some tubes of mini toothpaste in the sweet box. First kid that pulled one out thought we were trying to poison him.

It will take more than mini toothpastes to make them feel bad about eating sweets. Great idea though! One house gave my daughter an apple last year: she was disgusted! :)

Someone put on their facebook they've got a load of fruit in to give to the fat kids who knock his door tonight

Frankly, I'm sick of jumping up and down all night opening the door to folk I don't even know.

I accept I may be a miserable bastard but is there any accepted sign/ etiquette that will discourage folks from knocking on ?

I was driving around Burnage and Didsbury before .... there's a fair few people out tonite in halloween gear , with their kids ... and then there are those off to halloween parties ...... i've just seen a 'devil' with a tail walk into wetherspoons Didsbury .

And yet i haven't had one single knock on the door so far ...

Maybe it happened when you were driving around Burnage & Didsbury ?

No knocks on my door tonight, obviously Halloween isn't big over in Romania and Albania.

Had my first "fuck i'm getting old" thought today. As I was walking home from the shop with a pepsi I thought to myself "At least the rain will keep the little bastards at home".

They even redirected some busses in Cardiff tonight due to past problems with egging, which I used to partake in years ago.

Yet another consumer festival of plastic shit and begging kids. Actually surprised there aren't Halloween greetings cards yet.

Fortunately spotted some in our street so lights of and upstairs to make a phone call. Getting away with it for another year!

Nah not round our end, one group of kids all night no nocks no eggs. Sure, ill probably change my view if I have little uns and they get all excited and look forward to it but up to that point can't be doing with it. Actually like kids (not in that way! Or on toast etc etc!) but not a fan of Halloween. Never was even bothered as a kid myself be honest.

Two years ago they started a community Halloween party at the local park, went tonight with my two kids and they had a great time. Free sausages, candy floss, popcorn and a bag of sweets for each kid, there must have been over 200 kids having a ball.
Before they started this we had loads of kids knocking on the door, not one in the last two years. :)

GFG...Savile, Stuart and Glitter would have had a ball here...what is goin' on??
