Hansen, Lawrensen and Shearer bring shame on the BBC

My 2nd complaint to the BBC (I posted one last week after the Quarter Final)

"Yet again Alan Hansen and Mark Lawrenson have shown bias and I suspect prejudice in their punditry, particularly with regards Mario Balotelli. This is a constant and continual issue with Hansen and Lawrenson who continue to show a lack of balance, and give the distinct impression that they want to victimise Balotelli. As a long standing BBC licence fee payer I found this disgraceful, and wanting to watch ITV's coverage instead (Please note that I don't enjoy listening to Clive Tyldesley's ITV commentary, but at least he is not vindictive or nasty).

I ask you the question: would Hansen and Lawrenson be so critical of an English or white man? Their treatment of Wayne Rooney was very different to Balotelli, with whom they tried to find fault at every turn.

I can no longer stand their bias or prejudices, whether they be aganst Balotelli or against black people.

Given the choice, and as an ethnic minority and someone who reasonably expects fairness, I will no longer be watching BBC programmes which Hansen and Lawrenson are on."

For the first time in my life, last night I knowingly chose ITVs coverage and Clive Tyldesley's commentary above the BBC, for the simple reason that whilst I loathe Tyldesley with a passion, I would sooned have that rag simpleton inflicted on me than listen to Mark Lawrenson droning on with his "funny" asides, much less listen to Alan Hansen's bile.

I don't give a shit whether the BBC change or not. If there is no alternative, there is no alternative and we are stuck with Hansen and Shearer and Lawrenson. If there is an alternative, whatever it is, I will take it.

me too.

the dutch commentary on the web is a joy to hear.

I sent in a complaint too....let's bombard them

i e-mailed a letter of complaint to the BBC , i got a standard reply , basically saying that everyone else criticises mario , so Hansen and Lawrenson are entitled to do this as well , its up to the club or mario to put these 2 wankers in their place.

"We are sorry to hear about your complaint...blah, blah, blah...blah...we have logged your comments and be assured we take them seriously...blah"

Save you waiting mate.

What annoyed me is their constant reference throughout the tournament that Balotelli is a suspension waiting to happen;-

Minutes Balotelli missed through suspension = 0
Minutes Rooney missed through suspension = 180

Yet Mario gets a lot rougher ride.

Not a great argument, considering Balotelli missed eight games for us through suspension last season and was, arguably, lucky not to have received a longer ban.

Edit: Actually 11 if you include the three game European ban he had for the red card against Kiev the season before.
