Give or take a million? How things have changed. It was £13 million, IIRC.

Of our squad, Clive Allen cost £1 million and didn’t even play, Bish was £750k, David Oldfield £600k, Brian Gayle £360k, Tricky Trev £235 000, Gary Fleming £150 000, Paul Cooper £20 000 and Ian Brightwell, Andy Hinchcliffe, Paul Lake, Steve Redmond and David White were Youth Team products, so cost nothing.
So the XI that started the Maine Road Massacre cost a total of £2 115 000 million, compared to the rags' £13 million.
That ball from Silva was the best pass of a football I think I’ve ever seen. It was perfectly weighted and sliced through that united team like it wasn’t there.
Anyone think we should have done the decent thing and eased off at 3-1? It would have been more respectful.
If so, kindly fcuk off.

Should have been 10 by all counts......Love this pic. If you watch the vid Dzeko has to ask Kola how many we'd scored...he'd forgotten because it was so many.
