Happy Birthday Gio

Still my favourite player of all time. The guy was a genius and easily the most skilful dribbler I have ever seen play for City.

Take Messi and Maradona out of the equation and he probably stands on his own for the speed of his feet, balance and acceleration away from an opponent.

I love the artistry of Silva but for shear excitement Kinkladze was like a bolt of electricity on a match day at Maine Road.

Just view his goal against West Ham, and watch the North Stand, as he cuts inside, people were literally jumping out of there seats.

Happy birthday Georgiou. Thanks for the memories and thanks for giving the fans something to be proud of during the darkest of times.

My footballing hero. I went to school at a time when United were winning trebles and we were constantly being relegated. Us City fans were outnumbered about 50-1 in my school but i had 2 things i could use as a response to all the abuse i got. 1 was at least i actually went to the games and the second being I get to watch Kinkladze. The crap he had to play with is summed up in the video's. He dribbles past 4/5 gives somebody an open net and they smash it over or wide. Thanks for all the memories Gio.

On a par with Scott Sinclair ......
Nay nay this guy saved us from going bust in 1998 .
The transfer to Ajax helped keep us solvent .
I dread to think what would have happened to City in 1998 .
If we hadn't had Kinklazde .
May be we would have been like Stockport County in conference North .

To say he didn't do well at Ajax is doing a bit of a disservice to the man.

The manager that bought him was sacked before the season there started, he ended up being stuck out on the left wing, a position I think we all know he was totally unsuited to.

Hated seeing him in a Derby shirt.

A mercurial star in a relatively poor team at City.
His great moments were truly great, but he had plenty of mediocre games too.

He'd struggle to make our first team now.

Joe Royle was probably right leaving Kinkladze out of the team .
Kinkladze i recall was replaced by Ian Bishop in the team towards the last few games of the season.
