Of the ones you have mentioned I would only consider Goater, Silva, Aguero and Kompany
Legend is bandied around far too easily
And Rosler was a mard arse

Owen blue to the core
I don't disagree, but so's my daughter and she's not a City legend either
Which daughter?

Always knew one of them was a dilettante ;-)

Love Yaya, it will be a sad day when he leaves our great club.

I'll always remember the key goals he has scored for the team, which have defined our bluemoon rising.

No-one can take those memories away from me or many other fans who truly appreciate what he has brought to the club, even though he doesn't run around like a headless chicken with lots of huff and puff and fuck all else, which is what we became used to until Mr Shinawatra and the wonderful Sheikh took over our club.

I sense a lot of our fans would prefer a Joey Barton to a Yaya Toure type of player in our midfield (very sad).

I think Rosler is more of a City legend than Yaya.

Not trying to denigrate what Yaya has done; he's one of the greatest players to pull on the shirt, but so was Carlos Tevez.

A legend is someone whose conduct on and off the pitch, combined with a certain je ne sais quoi , means the club's supporters have almost nothing but wonderful memories of their time at the club.

In my currency as a blue true City legends have been:

Tueart
Lake
Rosler
Goater
Kinkladze
Bernabia
Silva
Aguero
Kompany

Honourable mentions for Corrigan, Owen, Barnes, Dunne and Hart, plus controversially Power.

Doubtless missed some off.

What they all share is that they seem to 'get' City and have never bad-mouthed the club; directly or indirectly.

Yaya does not fit into that grouping.

The topic probably merits a thread of its own tbh.

Not sure how Rosler, Goater or Kinkladze make it into that bracket. And how can you omit Colin Bell. I'd also have Andy Morrison on the legend list, we wouldn't be where we are today without his contribution that season.

I omit Colin Bell because of the term of reference that I applied 'in my currency as a blue'. His injury was sustained in 1975 and as my first game was in 1976 it would be disingenuous to include him as I never saw him play in the flesh.

Morrison is a decent shout. As I said, I doubtless missed some off, although by your logic I can't see how Goater doesn't also apply. Without him we wouldn't have been promoted in '99, '00 or possibly '02.

Great player who's hit a slump this season.

Still 8 goals in a season.. most central midfielders would be happy with that.

Will miss him if he leaves, unstoppable on his day and could be a legend IMO if he gets back in to it.

Zab should be on that list

He should. I agree. Can't believe I forgot to include him :-/

I did say I'd doubtless missed some off!
