Happy Clappers

Why not? It’s pretty much the same squad that won the league last season.

After four leagues in a row why would you count them out after our first bad patch

If you're that confident, stick your mortgage on us to win the league this season.

I've got room in my garden shed when you need somewhere to live...

;-)

Whatever system you want us to play, we don’t have enough defenders to make it work at the moment.

It’s not as if Pep isn’t trying different things.

Our weakness is in midfield. The defence is generally OK, other than Walker and Gvardiol who frequently crumble under pressure.

The midfield leave the back three / four exposed far too often.

The midfield creates little or nothing for our forward (singular, not plural).

The midfield makes more sideways moves in one game than Ray Wilkins dud in a full season. They're slow, predictable, and indecisive.

Bernardo, Gundogan, De Bruyne, Kovacic... All done at 'elite' level other than in short bursts. Part-timers.

Foden, Grealish... below par, with no settled position in the team. They both look very average players this season. They're both overrated by fans imo, resulting in too much being expected of them.

Lewis, Savinho, Doku, Nunes... Simply not top level players. Grafters with no end product. They're very lucky to be at a top level club.

We've got two 'full time' world class players. One on crutches for the season, and one running around 'up top' getting little or no service.

Pep can try what he wants. He simply doesn't have the players who can be relied on to deliver the goods over 40+ games a season any more.

Poor succession planning by the club.

I disagree. We win when Ake and Akanji are fit and lose when they don’t.

Losing Rodri was obviously a huge blow, but having to play Lewis and Walker at full back is our main issue at the moment.

Every transition is a goal.

Creativity is another issue though, I agree.

Bloody hell. I think I’ve got my answer to what the opposite of a happy clapper is ;)

Bored now of this, a happy clapper is someone who refuses to accept any criticism of the club from team, manager, fans and owner.

most people being positive about the team coming back to form are not happy clappers, just optimists.

City has always had pessemistic optimists as fans which is why we could always laugh at misfortune and when we were shite.

Success seems to have eroded it with some who now decide you should be perpetually grateful for the last 10. yrs and those that cannot take hiccups in the road.

The rest are the legacy beets that just get on with suppoorting city through the good the bad and the ugly with a sarcastic tone

As if bloody labels are worth jack shit !

Everything this is discussed on this forum is probably echoed at the club.

The problems are obvious and numerous.

Fixing them requires time, ruthlessness and a few months free of injuries. We couldn’t ask for a better team to do this than khaldoon, txiki and Pep.

Happy clapper is such a boring way to view it. Weigh it up and the situation at the moment is shit but can be fixed.

It’s an interesting watch in a weird stick pins in your toes kind of way. How will the great man get us out of this situation? Either way city is blockbuster viewing well apart from the slow boring football. Off the pitch we are a riot -:)
