Harley Davidson riders

Bimbo nobody disputes that they do good for charities etc but why do they have to dress like full kit wankers ? Why do they all dress like some renegade badass outlaws
I'm sure if you are in some Texas town it doesn't seem out of place but Didsbury ??

Perhaps you should post a photograph of yourself, then we will all know how to dress, or at least know what a full blown wanker looks like.

The "full kit wankers" as you so politely put it dress like that usually for a reason. Warmth and safety. Sure they can go a little overboard but I can guarantee that 90% of them will be dressed for those 2 reasons. The other 10% like to accessorise.

Bimbo I have owned enough motorbikes to know how to dress for safety on one , and at no point did I feel the need to wear a bandana or leather chaps endorsed by Harley Davidson. the majority of riders of Harleys buy into this badass biker image cos it's an image that they wish they had instead of being a photocopier salesman in a suit and tie, it's no different to an adult wearing full kit kidding themselves that they are footballers although this hasn't stopped Jordan Henderson !!!!!

@BimboBob all dressed and ready to roll.

The lesson is don't judge a book by it's cover,if a rocker has a huge beard and tatts you think they are cool,if you look at someone and you are scared by them then that's your problem (not you i mean everyone),i don't know anyone who has tatts who has done it to be scary, not to say there aren't some i suppose,my brother was heavily into the hells angel thing back in the late 70's and he used to tke me along so maybe i see them differently
Fair points, and well made, thanks. I have no issue with hell's angels or rockers (tattoos or no tattoos).

I worded my question badly, what I meant was I am vexed by the weekend Harley crowd and their need to identify with a counter-culture on a Sunday, then put the Harley in the double garage and get back into their suits and Audis on a Monday morning.

And why this particular identity has consistently remained popular to this day from the 60s. There is a punk aged at least 55 lives near me, full yellow mohawk, safety pins etc. but he's always in a group of one. I suppose it shows punk's not quite dead.

Done sports bikes and had a ton of other bikes mostly big BMWs I did fancy a Harley at one point after a trip to Florida then bought a BMW R1200C like Pearce Brosnan had in the Bond film... rarer than a Harley but I've now gone retro this time and bought this.. based on a Honda CB650z from 1979.. and shows what £12,000 can do in the right hands...That's what the guy who built it invested before he decided the fun was in the build and sold it to me...
