Harry Gregg RIP

A true hero, told by the pilot to run as the plane was about to blow up he went back in twice to pull Charlton and Violet clear.

He shamed the club into doing it.

Quite rightly vocal about how the club treated him and his fellow survivors.

I am 58 - throughout my entire growing up period I can't recall the disaster being anything other than observed by a few die hards for decades - those that did quoted Harry Gregg's comments about how they were treated - its only in recent years that Munich became a mass observance - many on here have noted the same.

People use phrases and just throw them around without any thought now-a-days. They use words like confetti.

THIS man was brave.

Says he wasn't a hero because he just acted on instinct without really thinking or knowing about the dangers said the REAL hero was the pilot because he knew the risks.
Wonder if he'd have accepted being called a "Sporting Hero". Good man.

RIP
