Harry Kane

English football team is shit. Just look at the difference when you watch Germany, France, Spain, Italy. We are absolutely miles behind technically. We'd be better off fucking off trying to be clever and play long ball with vardy and Kane up top.

Somewhere along the line we are failing at creating technically sound players and a system to suit. Until this is addressed, like Belgium did, we will always be shit.

I do agree with you about the media though. The national team will always be on to a loser with them as they build them up beyond all rationality and they crucify when they fail to reach the unrealistic expectations.
Agreed. We were desperately poor on friday night, and the 3 late goals put an undeserved gloss on the scoreline. Now Southgate and his fans will point to the group table and say they're doing what they've been tasked to do. Which is fine and all true. But I don't think anyone seriously believes that, going on that level of performance, we won't have a repeat of last summer's fiasco in France.

Check out how good france are? They'd fuckin destroy us in 3rd gear, then u've germany,spain,italy,ect...we're a fuckin joke of a team.. 1 up front & 2 def mid against malta!!!

Replying to the usual abuse from England fans.

Doesn't matter if we won 4-0,8-0,15-0 ... still be labelled as 'Shit' and 'it was only (insert country)

What people forget is this is a new manager and a new batch of young players yet the abuse carries over - look at the media and fan abuse of Sterling ... a young player, clearly giving 100% yet fans can't wait to jump on him.

Social media has made things a lot worse. No England team will escape abuse unless they win a major tournament - which is incredibly tough.

Busquetes, iniesta, silva, Isco, asensio, koke.

Henderson, Livermore, ox, chalobah, dier.

That tells its own story. We're a third rate international team these days.

A third rate international squad that rarely plays a decent team competitively. We can coast with this squad throughout qualification against the likes of fucking Malta and Andorra then we reach the tournament years later and either get dumped when we finally play a decent team or get dumped by a squad that play as a team and give it their all.

It's like the year 11's at school tanking the year 7's 5-0 each week until they play another year 11 team then get pratted.

Same old shit in the qualifiers. I'm not impressed beating the likes of malta, slovakia and scotland. Turn up to a major competition and get beat by Iceland.

But surely that's football ? Why should England be immune to shock results and performances.

France held at home to Luxembourg last night. Luxembourg! But they won a competition 17 years ago so they can get a free pass I presume.

Every single cup competitions you get minnows beating big teams, difference domestically if Man City lost to say Bradford in the FA Cup, it's quickly forgotten the following week when you beat Man Utd.

These England youngsters seem to carry the burden for England's past history, which is unfair.

Being English and living in Scotland I'm desperate to see England do well as I get all kinds of (friendly) abuse when they don't.
But I have to say since Southgate took over the performances have been extraordinary lackluster against very moderate opposition.

Breaking down his league goals:

Arsenal H: 1, A: 1.
Bournemouth H: 1,
Burnley H: 0.
Chelsea H: 0, A: 0.
Crystal Palace: H: 0, A: 0.
Everton H: 2, A: 0.
Hull H: 0, A: 3.
Leicester A: 4 (end of season).
Liverpool: H: 0, A: 0.
Man City: A: 0.
Man Utd H: 1, A: 0.
Southampton A: 1.
Stoke H: 3, A: 1.
Sunderland H: 1, A: 0.
Swansea H: 2,
Watford H: 0, A: 2.
West Brom H: 3,
West Ham H: 2, A: 0 (Spurs out of title race).

So he scored 21 out of his 29 goals in just 8 games (4 v Leicester, 3 v Hull, 3 v Stoke, 3 v West Brom, 2 v Everton, 2 v Watford, 2 v Swansea, 2 v West Ham).

Which means he scored just 8 goals in his other 22 appearances (including subs). I think his figures are skewed somewhat by games where he demolishes cannon fodder, and is why in the back of their minds people just don't fancy him.
