The thing is they can't have it both ways - are we smashing ffp and spending like drunk sailors, or can't afford certain players? The fact that some 'outlets' are reporting both suggests it's all bollocks.
 
If the rumours are true and by signing grealish we can’t afford Kane then how much money did we really have to spend in this window. We have recouped a fair bit from transfers already but can’t afford Kane .

I would say the rumours aren't true, just the usual sunday filler article from a journo with nothing to write about so putting 2+2=5 with some logic that if you spend 100M you cannot spend another 100M so soon
