Their best player is on strike, their new manager hasn't spoken to him, the squad is in need of improvement in several areas, the season starts next weekend and they have no clarity on what their squad is going to look like - but Levy is IN CONTROL. This could all be talk. The exact same was being said about the Grealish deal because Villa wanted to get deals sorted before announcing they have £100m to spend.

Spurs could be doing the same thing.

It would explain why Kane is missing and why we aren’t going for Messi.

My take on it and I hope I am wrong is this...
Kane was giving some assurances that he could leave this summer if the price was right (probably £150m) and Kane wants to come to us.
Unfortunately we probably thought we would get this down to £100m and Spurs will not budge on their value.
I fear that with Kane going on a mini strike and now Pep talking about it, we will piss Levy off to such an extent that Spurs won't sell to us now period.
Hope I am wrong, because we HAVE to sign a striker this summer.

Absolutely this. All going to script. Next will be the Spurs mouthpieces reporting “Levy’s anger at Pep comments on Kane” and how he has now put the price up even more. A few days of hot air then he signs for £120m plus add ons

All of those Pep comments indicate, they want Levy to hurry up, if he really wants to come to that table for negotiations, we will try and wrap it quick, but if not, they'll simply move on, either not sign a striker. Or.. they might pursue a certain Messi, don't think he's really ruled it out.
