Let Jesus be our main CF this season and get Haaland next year. If we don’t win silverware this season so be it. We probably win loads for a few seasons afterwards anyway. Unless Delap is the main reason we want Kane now to give Delap another two years to develop as we think he might be as good as Haaland in time.

It’s not. In the Amazon documentary he’s clearly told that the price for Van Dijk is too much, by Soriano. His job is to identify and negotiate targets, but he doesn’t get to unilaterally decide what to spend on any player.

We have seen Danny Ings (£25m) and now Lukaku (£95m) moving in this window to Premier league clubs. They both have a proven record of scoring goals and would score plenty for us.

If we don't get Kane we must get someone else.

But only because it would have prevented other deals leaving us with just one player bought. Too much.
