Harry Kane

It seems like we're going to pay levys silly demands , just waiting till spurs gets a replacement

It seems like we will probably negotiate some sort of a deal for Kane. Probably after Sunday I just hope Bernardo is not part of the deal if he wants out fair enough but surely not to a premier league club.

Bullshit.

It would have been long, expensive and ugly. He would have won, probably, but would it have been worth it? I doubt ourselves or any other club would have wanted it either, at risk of actually losing it would have meant not only a transfer ban but also having to then pay his 700m release clause retrospectively. Even if he was up for a fight, which is entirely understandable why he wanted to be, every chance the club would have said no to that as it affects them too.

He clearly wanted to leave. He handed in a notice. His lawyers challenged bith Barcelona and la Liga publicly. His strike went on longer than Kane's, and he didn't hide why it was either. He only yeaterday confirmed he did indeed want to leave and was prepared to. Claiming otherwise is quite bitter.
He never wanted too leave. He wanted Bartamenou (sic) gone.

nope
it was all down to messi he bottled it big time ? barcelona could not afford to take it to court.
because it was in his contract he could leave for free with a year left on it. so not a chance they take it to court knowing they have no chance of winning

after the interview at the weekend its plain and simple messi does not want to leave ? messi tested them again with his demands in this window and this time barcelona said NO
Fair enough.

If Kane was happy at Spurs this discussion wouldn’t be taking place. It seems to be the case that Levy is reneging on a gentlemen’s agreement to let Kane go if an offer of £X came through.

City won’t pay £160m for Kane. Just won’t happen.

So unless Spurs agree to accept £100m plus say £30m in add ons, you will be left with a talisman who is being kept at the club against his will and a chairman whose word will be worthless. (No one enters gentlemen’s agreements with someone who has shown himself not to be a gentleman.)

If you’re happy with that state of affairs, cool.

There's simply no way, Levy or any Spurs fan can see sense in selling Kane to a PL club for 130m...with 3 years on contract, when the same buying club spent 100m on Grealish in same window. Lukaku transfer of 100m also has set a benchmark - Kane has produced superior numbers on goals & assists than Lukaku year after year. So, valuation wise, there is no reason for Spurs to agree 130m.

Kane could be unhappy - I agree. But the amount difference we are talking about it is too much to just give him away. End of the day, we know he is incredibly motivated to break Shearer record. So, I am pretty sure, if we put him on field in PL, he will do his most to score those goals. Its a gamble we will take. And there is precedence for it. Modric went to Roman Abrahomivic yacht to seal Chelsea deal in 2011 and we talked him through to give one more year, for him to leave to RM next summer. Modric was unhappy but being a pro, he played his best season at Spurs then. I expect similar with Kane, if it comes to that.
