Harry Kane

It’s because it’s deadly quiet. Nuno and Kane are supposedly having their chat today, so hopefully there will be some news later.
Surely Kane wont fall for Nuno's bullshit, trying to talk him in to staying, saying hes got this project, how they're going to start winning things etc,

What's the difference between 130 and 160 in terms of Spurs's seeing 'sense' ? Will that extra 30 make a difference on the pitch to Spurs next season ? I don't think it will make a blind bit of difference.

Which is why it is bizarre to see so many Spursy types on Bluemoon talking about money. Your logic is deeply flawed in terms of money. What you should be saying is "Levy and Lewis need to tell Kane he's not for sale at any price."

Sadly you all know that everyone in your squad has a price as you're a selling club. In the end City will pay a lot of money for Kane because he's worth it, and we'll have taken your best player. Everything else is empty posturing from Daniel Levy and his PR lackeys.

Its quiet funny how they keep talking about money. Instead of wanting their BEST player to stay.

There's simply no way, Levy or any Spurs fan can see sense in selling Kane to a PL club for 130m...with 3 years on contract, when the same buying club spent 100m on Grealish in same window. Lukaku transfer of 100m also has set a benchmark - Kane has produced superior numbers on goals & assists than Lukaku year after year. So, valuation wise, there is no reason for Spurs to agree 130m.

Kane could be unhappy - I agree. But the amount difference we are talking about it is too much to just give him away. End of the day, we know he is incredibly motivated to break Shearer record. So, I am pretty sure, if we put him on field in PL, he will do his most to score those goals. Its a gamble we will take. And there is precedence for it. Modric went to Roman Abrahomivic yacht to seal Chelsea deal in 2011 and we talked him through to give one more year, for him to leave to RM next summer. Modric was unhappy but being a pro, he played his best season at Spurs then. I expect similar with Kane, if it comes to that.

I think you are way off the mark by suggesting that Lukaku is vastly inferior to Kane. Both players are goal scorers and Lukaku was hitting top figures in the PL at West Brom and Everton. He has also led a side to a league title which Kane hasn’t done. I agree that Kane is the better player but it’s not by a huge amount and their respective fees are comparable.

Also, you’ve completely ignored the market when referencing Modric. The Spanish sides were dominating the top end of the transfer fees at that time which is no longer the case. In a summer when Haaland and Mbappe may be available, not to mention the other players who burst on to the scene, a 29 year old Harry Kane will not be as attractive a proposition as you think.

By your logic, if Ben White is worth £50 million and Jack Grealish is £100 million, then Laporte and Bernardo should be worth at least £70 million each. The reality is that no one will pay that and because they want to leave City will let them for a lower fee.

IMO, the same will happen with Kane. The fact he wants to leave and can command a fee of £120/30 million will be enough.

i do feel its getting to a point and a level that we are at that every new signing has to be £100million
once you start to pay big money for players fans will want it all the time

the only down side for me is the sell on value of kane and grealish
they are bought for one thing and its winning the champions league ? so if we don't reach them heights in 5 years then add the wages its going to work out about £500million

the unseen money is the wages and it almost matches the transfer fee and this is my fear
yes the gamble is winning champions league and titles and cups. but nothing can be guaranteed at this level and we seen already what covid-19 can do to football,

nobody that gambles wins every time ? manchester city have been burnt before but this is a all new level and could be long term damage
I agree with player purchases that we obviously need for a position but we will still get bargain players who can be moulded into a City type player.

The team has progressed to such a state that only world class players are wanted for our dare I say 1st team.

Tottenham fan on Reddit seems like some of them are not as bad as the ones on here they seem to know Kane is going.

“City tap up Kane. They agree terms.

City start talking to Spurs. Put in bullshit £100m offer. Levy tells them to come back with something closer to £150m. City eventually offer something near that. Levy agrees on condition that agreement is kept confidential until end of transfer window. In theory, it’s also kept from Kane to minimise any chance of leaking.

Somebody (probably from City) accidentally lets it slip to Charlie Kane. Kane gets over-excited, starts telling everybody and anybody who will listen that the deal is done (wedding incident).

City high-ups realise that this is proof of confidentiality clause being broken and is jeopardising the deal with Levy. City release strong denial of deal having been done to try to salvage. Maybe it works, maybe Levy insists on a few million more as the price of renegotiation.

The Kanes are told of the deal and told it’s meant to stay a secret. Either the Kanes understand that breaking the clause would kill the transfer but want to send a message in a petty way by not training, or they genuinely think that the fact a deal is done means there is no point going to training. Might as well have an extended holiday.

Levy and Paratici spend ~£150million before the end of August including 2 attacking players, Kane is then announced as a City player.

City Bayernise the Prem, Spurs hope to become England’s Dortmund. Sounds shit, I know, but this analogy does mean perpetual Champions League and scum/Schalke getting relegated.

Well the reason Kane’s brother was willing to take Levy at his word was probably because he heard what happened with Modric. If he welches on the deal he made with Kane, you can rest assured that (a) everyone else at Spurs will hear about it and (b) they won’t be willing to give Levy the chance to weasel out of a handshake agreement. Like I said, if you’re happy with that, cool.

I like the part about City becoming the Bayern of the league. Truth be told I'd once much preferred a competitive league where maybe some years it doesn't work out, but considering what some teams have tried to do to us behind the scenes I'm now ok with winning every league season for eternity.
