Harry Kane

There's a week to go and there are little to no positive noises from a City side, other than we haven't given up the move. Levy holds all the cards and doesn't want to sell.

Kane will either stay or we'll get rinsed. And the former looks more likely given our negotiating hand has weakened with the clock ticking and Kane no longer forcing the move or kicking up a stink.
That's all your opinion which is fair enough but you or anybody else on here doesn't know what's happening so chill and just let it all play out instead of all this hearsay.

Gotta admit, Levy's done a great job of crushing Kane's voice in all of this - its all evil City against noble Levy protecting his club from their raid. The initial driving narrative from Kane of promises/Shearer/trophies/fulfillment has been totally quashed, with Kane's help of course. He was told to keep his head down. Kane won't find 100% effort in a Spurs shirt ever again. Can't believe they deny him in the end. Shirley ...

Erm...right...heard a little bit of info. As always, the disclaimer: there's always a chance info could be wrong, but once again, I trust the person who told me as they work within the game, and they've told me loads before correctly.

They messaged me on Saturday morning saying that they've heard that City want Kane, yes, obviously, but key bit is not as much as Pep personally wants Kane and Pep is very much the driver behind the move. The catch is now apparently that the club would prefer a 'project' striker like Vlahovic.

That's all I've heard. I've don't know the reasoning, so all I can do is my guess - i'd say maybe it's the price? Kane at a reasonable price? Sure? At the numbers quoted? Nah, Vlahovic.

Sorry if that's just a repeat of what is already out in the world, or not - I hand on heart don't know as I'm 100% not really sure where we're up to with this Kane stuff as I've been away and intensely busy personally for the last few days! I was getting married when that message came through heh.

As always, just passing it on in good faith to you guys. Fuck knows what will happen. If it's true though that it's mainly a Pep thing, it doesn't really fill me with joy regarding the Kane chances, but who knows I guess.
Congrats mate and thanks for the info too.

Updated my reply - "3rd article is from 2007. Berbatov was not sold that window like Levy said, he was sold in 2008."

We can argue over technicality and the choice of words. But the reality is that each transfer window is different. Pep said Bernardo will stay at City as long he was the manager. And here he is getting sold. Things change. What matters is that in a transfer window if Levy says, "no chance I'm not selling at any price", then usually he means it. That might change later in a different transfer window. In 2022, Levy might be willing to sell Kane for 100 mil.
when did that happen?

You can say someone isn't going to be sold. That only covers one transfer window though??
You can't pretend you are going to keep players at all costs and then sell them in 12 months.
He might hold on to his unhappy chappy for one more year of complete and utter disappointment and mediocrity, but he would be an absolute fool to do so (which, tbf, he is).

No, don’t think they do panic, if they did they would have just paid it. The fact they are taking their times shows a lack of panic if anything.

my thinking was no panic buying ? but the time pep has left on his contract and giving him the best chances
i still think we are the best squad in europe and grealish adds a bit of flair and can beat a man
but we are still short of a striker ? that person who will score the aguero goal in a final or big game

i am a big fan of sterling torres mahrez but would not bet my house on them in that big moment
you need a cold blooded striker that loves the fear and does not panic

Arguing over words again, are we? He's up for sale despite Pep saying he will never be sold as long as he was the manager. In fact, the only reason he hasn't been sold already is because of differences in valuations between clubs. I gave that example to show how absolute statements don't work in the transfer market. A season is a long time in football. Do you disagree?

Kane, even with a few injuries, will get you 30 goals across all competitions a season. Probably more in our setup with the players around him.

If we get him, and keep him fit toward the business end of the season, we can break our European duck.

Tbf the Bernardo thing is a bit tongue in cheek but until he's holding up another shirt (or at least publicly declare his desire to leave a la Kane), I'll take any info that he wants out with a pinch of salt.

City said we wouldn't sell Agüero at any price... and lo and behold we didn't until we didn't need him anymore.

That is how you make a definitive statement. Of course every player will eventually leave but it's absolute dishonesty to say you will keep a player (4 times) and then sell them a year (or less) later.

Levy is a master of pulling wool over the eyes of the fans. Tottenham, with the wealth of their owners, should be competing for major honours every year. They aren't.
