United signing Verane and Sancho, two unproven (PL) and Chelsea signing Lukaku is no more of an improvement than us signing Grealish, IMO.I literally explained myself immediately after saying it, it's in the same sentence. If we tread water whilst our rivals improve and catch up then you effectively go backwards. There's time for that to change but that's currently the case with our squad.
Yes. Grealish is a luxury signing, a player who doesn't neccesarily improve our starting 11 given his position is one of our strongest and most stacked areas in the squad. He's the type of signing you make when your squad has no obvious weaknesses or areas to improve and you're flush with cash. Neither apply to us this summer.
For every Torres that might improve with experience there's somebody over 30 on the decline. unless we have a team of eds players that evens itself out across the squad.
