Harry Kane

Well said mate I don't get how people can't say he's not world class. If he was in a different league and he wasn't English everyone would want him. It's cos he's Harry Kane.

I think it is totally the opposite. If he wasn't England's Captain, the people arguing he scores for fun would be saying his numbets are not good enough for us.

I’m in the camp of throwing our budget at Haaland and throwing Kane/Grealish ideas into the bin. Kane whilst a prolific scorer doesn’t have the X factor for me nor is he worth what Spurs want. Grealish is good but we have enough in midfield already. Sergios replacement is the main issue and if we only bought Haaland then scouted a replacement for Dino and had him lined up for next Jan/July then I’d be happy. If Bernardo left there must be a good cheap replacement we could bring in, instead of Grealish

Most strikers are likely to score less goals against the best sides because, well, they have the best defenders and are harder to score against.

Prior to these underwhelming England games, he did produce 30 goals and 18 assists in the preceding 55 appearances. There's no compelling evidence that he can't make a similar contribution for next season if he signs for City.

I would though prefer Haaland.
If those stats are accurate and dependant upon how many games he has played against he top 6) compared to Sergio - he has scored only roughly half of what Sergio did against the top 6..........again im not sure of the number of games he has played against the top 6 compared to Sergio.

According to stats I found Sergio played 275 prem league games....Kane has played 245 so far (again not totally acurate as you would have to look at how many games each had played against the top 6)

Its got nothing to do with his England performances....they just back up my thoughts on him.....Despite his goal scoring stats Ive never been overwhelmed by him and for me is not an Aguero replacement...

Sorry but spurs have been shit for a couple of seasons - prior to that they were top 4 and in CL (remember when they beat us to it) so its only recently that they have been in decline (oh and they beat us last season so they arent that shit)
They are shit. And the squad is ageing too. Kane, Son and a couple of others apart and they are shit. In my opinion united, Liverpool,Chelsea, even Leicester are a couple of levels above them. They are in the last chance saloon regarding Kane, and if he leaves watch Son depart too. They’ll be lucky to get top 6. No **** wants to take the managers job and Levy is one horrible chairman. Fuck em.

They are in a world of doom with or without Kane. In fact there best chance is actually to keep Kane and hope that some of there academy and can maintain them in the top 6. Without European football every season things will only get worse for them

No , he's not an Aguero replacement but he might be his successor.

TBH i dont think we want Kane, and i dont think we will get Haaland.

I think we will target and get somebody completely "left field, so to speak.

No but thats where the difference is made...against the better teams (also CL if you want).....Jesus, Sterling, Mahrez Foden will score against the rest but in the big big matches.....thats where the difference can be made...thats what Kun did in the big big moments and thats what we are trying to replace.....

People are arguing that he goes missing in the big games........this stat (though as Ive said there are some caveats like the number of games played for instance as I couldnt find that) seems to back up that opinion......

If you look at this article here:

It shows you who he has scored most goals against.......Leicester are first - he has scored 16 against them, and next out of the "normal top 6" is Arsenal whom he has scored 11 against

However against Chelsea and Liverpool he has scored only 6 across his career
VS Utd he has scored 4

Now again Ive no idea how that compares to someone like Kun when you put it aside the number of games played...it could eb good but on iniital reading it doesnt read great when looking at the argument about him scoring in the big games (ornot)
You are comparing apples with Oranges. Kun played for a multiple championship winning team when he played against the top 4. The only correct comparison which is impossible is how many goals would Kun have scored against the top 6 playing for Spurs. The impact of other players is huge. Without Silva then De Bruyne Kun is significantly lessened.

Well said he's doing it/done it in shit spurs sides whilst under managers like mourinho.

Correct. That is the point I was making earlier. There is a small group of strikers that are actually able to score frequently against tough opposition in the big games. I don’t think Kane is in that limited group, which isn’t necessarily a knock on him, but the price tag being talked about would imply he is. You mentioned Haaland at the end of your post, for instance: he has scored against Bayern every time he has played against them
Yep.

Of course Messi is in that group too ;-)
