With that in mind I'd go for Aubameyang as a stop gap.
Proven scorer in both the prem and Bundesliga. 25+ a season in our team.
Can also play off either wing if necessary.
Wouldn't cost the earth and would wave goodbye to finishing 8th at Arsenal at the drop of a hat.

A lot of teams still play with a recognised striker though. Don't get me wrong there are loads of great talents coming through all the time in plenty of positions. Especially in English football at the minute!!! England in 5 years will have a great, exciting team but left backs and strong goal poaching strikers are few and far between. Players like shearer, RVP, lewa, van nistlerooy, kluivert, etc would be banging ridiculous amounts of goals in now with the creativity being developed. Shearer in our team would be smashing records for fun. Maybe I'm just old fashioned, I understand you still need to pass, create, move and closedown but that can be taught, finishing is instinctive.I don't think it's a poor era, more like a generation change. There's a certain dip in quality ATM, but worldclass talents now emerge every season, in all positions. I'm sure you'll add 1-2 names to your list during the course of next season.
Besides, 'out and out' strikers are a dying breed, you need much more than just scoring talent to be amongst best CFs.

I'm not his biggest fan but you can't knock his goal return. Levy would be his usual self when negotiating but we should be showing an interest in him. The chances we create, the space he would have & the chances he would make himself, he'd score shed loads with us.
