Harry Kane

Swerve him. Great striker but he won't be for too much longer.

How long do we need him for? What’s the cost of not doing rather than doing?

£100mil for 3 years, I’d take that. He would be leading scorer in the league every year he played for us and his height might(just might) justify those daft floated crosses we put in when we are in the shit

I’d take him in a heartbeat.
However I think his wife has just given birth in the last week or two so not sure he would want to uproot his family at this moment in time, especially given he has lived his entire life down south

Injury prone and he's not built for longevity. He's missed a comparable amount of games in his career to Sergio and he's got over five years before he gets to that age.

Like I said, he's a great player but not a gamble I'd take. Each to their own but for the money we'd have to spend I'd rather put it towards someone with more miles in the tank.

Is this just a fantasy thread or have we been linked?

‘linked’ is a loose term. We need a striker and they have bills to pay. Their stadium wasn’t built to be playing Europa League football with no fans in for 18 months

It’s a 2+2 discussion. He’s there, we need him and if it was up to me we’d go and get him. Him upfront with Koudabally at the back would be a huge improvement

One thing it would give us is someone with a bit of height to get on the end of the crosses we launch in....

Great striker, but not a Pep type of player. Work rate not good enough for me.

Really? I don't agree with the work rate criticism. Not a huge amount of pace, but he's not THAT slow either. He's so intelligent and has great movement.

Also, you may recall there's a pretty well known player who plays the same position who also was "not a Pep player" and many of us thought would be sold.

What happened there again?

Hmmmm

EDIT: Look at this Spurs fanzine article:

https://hotspurhq.com/2019/12/08/harry-kanes-work-off-the-ball-key-to-tottenhams-success/

Notice this section:

Pressing Kane

Just like the effort needed to compete for aerial balls and give his team the edge, Kane’s intensity is as important when Spurs don’t have the ball. For the press to work, Kane must hurry and harass the opposition’s defence high. Of course Kane won’t be able to do this for 90 minutes, but it’s important for him to spearhead his side’s press.

Back when Tottenham, and Kane, were at their best under Mauricio Pochettino in 2017-18, the Englishman was putting in the work to create pressure. While turnovers didn’t eventuate from yesterday’s press, it’s only a matter of time before Kane’s work rate causes the opposition to cough it up. Again, it also shows Kane’s willingness to lead by example. His work rate is being adopted by his teammates.
