I agree with everything except the bolded. You might be right but with his injury history it's more likely he'd start having problems sooner rather than later. It's not common for players with persistent injuries like he's had to thrive past their early 30s. It'd be risky to get him on that basis. And to cement the point, the dip can happen fast.For the way Kane plays, he's definitely not too old, he can play at the top for maybe 10 more years, more than enough time with us to repay his value.

However he could still be excellent for 3-4 years fairly risk free. It does make the need to sign him more urgent for whoever decides they want him.
