Harry Kane

Huge backtrack that. We all know Spurs were kept out of the loop and the no show was a deliberate tactic of his brother to try and force Spurs' hand. Instead it's just made Levy more stubborn and Kane look like a bellend so he's backtracked. And to me that shows that he doesn't want to burn bridges with Spurs, precisely because he realises the move is increasingly unlikely.
He can't afford to have his reputation ripped apart, he was to protect that.

Still say if we back out now, we are going to look bad, but if Levy is insisting on 150-160m maybe we will.

That rather depends on if you believe everything you read on Twitter.

If anything it sounds like an appeal for understanding.
More interesting is to consider what it doesn’t say.
He certainly doesn’t say, for example, that he is staying at Spurs and looking forward to the new season. And that would have been quite easy if that was his intention

I agree.

To me, guessing, this looks like he has, at last, taken some proper advice instead of listening to his fuckwit brother. And i suspect they have told him, he ain't going to get his move if he stays on strike and continues his war with Levy.

The problem is that it is probably too little too late. As it has been pointed out, it is hardly a ringing endorsement of Nuno and Spurs. it is much more of a "woe is me" post. I am sure Levy will not be impressed.

I think it makes a deal a little more likely simply because he has taken some proper advice but it stills seems to be in a lot of trouble.

The problem with these deals is however professional the clubs might be. The players are fucking stupid.

What a shit show shambles! Lol

maybe I need to get back to the messi thread.

odd statement by Harry this after a week of not going to training.

not over yet this
He could and indeed would have quite easily said “I will be returning to the club tomorrow, as planned. I am fully committed to enjoying a successful season ahead with Nuno, my teammates and the Spurs fans”

He pointedly chose not to say any such thing. But he did choose to say “While I won’t go into the specifics of the situation”…

All part of the propaganda war

He was told too lay low as per Tolmie, he layed low. However Tottenham have sold him down the river on this I think. Made him look like a mercenary. Now he’s basically saying ‘I’ve done what I was told to do’ Don’t blame me. He hasn’t confirmed his commitment too Tottenham nor has he mentioned anything about looking forward too the season ahead and pushing on with Spurs.

IMO, he’ll be a city player by the end of August.

Yes, because Spurs literally came out and made it clear he was expected back on a certain date and simply no showed. So yes, we all know. It didn't happen by accident, and it's not an accident it's taken a week for Kane/his team to clear this up/damage control. Or do you think it was?

Like Grealish I think we were only in for Kane on the understanding he had a buy out clause we were prepared to meet. If it was 100 million then with our outgoing sales it would have only cost us 140 million for two top quality players. Then there would be the possibility of moving Bernardo, Laporte or Jesus on, which if even if one left would reduce the cost even more.
If you take into account the 140m you paid for bernardo, Laporte and Jesus it wouldn’t

but pep also said we're in for Kane though. thats literally the first time he does that
He also said that there are no negotiations with Spurs so if that's true there's no deal.

It's very difficult because he's under contract and although Kane has made it very clear that he wants to leave Spurs are not prepared to negotiate a transfer. That is their decision. Things might change but at this moment it looks very unlikely.

Tolmie said on Monday that Kane was told to "lie low for a week." He has done that.
No idea what the eff it means, but it's happened ;-)

About face because Levy won’t budge on the price and it wasn’t too late to pretend he wasn’t due back yet.

What I don't understand is why Spurs didn't clarify when he was due back earlier this week?!

Nuno, could have confirmed that he was not due back in his after match interview as well?!

Kane waved goodbye to the fans after the last home game, so I am not sure he 'planned' to go back to spurs.

We made an offer of £100m or £70m plus some players at the start of the summer and then, looked to have not offered anything else.

What a shambles.

Finally we agree on something
