Harry Kane

the best I have seen him play during the Euros. And I thought he was very average. Looked like he was falling over the ball on a few occasions.
That is an important part of his game. He doesn't have the pace of Sterling or Foden to run away from a player so he'll bank on getting near enough or into the box for a 'tumble'! He's done it hundreds of times for 'Arringay 'n Engerland. The first time he ever does it in a City shirt it's a booking! He's not on the BBC proggy yet - Strictly Diving - but he knows how to get a free. There was one instance last night where he could safely have jumped over a Danish leg but chose to let his own leg clip the Dane, one step on the other side and then down.

And yer gead right D, he had a 'better' game and despite all the hype of Cap'n 'Arry he was just average. I must said I was impressed on one occasion where he did a little bit of twinkley-toed to leave a defender stone dead but then can't accelerate away!

I don't doubt his record, but I don't see how falling over when youre halfway into your opponents half, fits in with how we play. Happy to be proven wrong, though.
Yeah, I feel the same. Clearly he has a lot of very good attributes, you don't score the goals he has without being a top striker and he's added creativity to his game by coming deep in the last year. But I watch him play and most of time all I see is a big fucking lump. We are a nimble, skillful team pressing all over the pitch and with really dynamic movement off the ball. He may be an incredible success if he signs for us but I do also fear he could look a bit like Mendy does in our team.

Despite all the euphoria surrounding England, I still don't want Kane to move to City.

It would be a short-term signing and also, it is not what we usually do: £100million+ and players too, in the current pandemic climate would be mental - let us stick to our system, buy younger players with a long-term future and re-sale value around the 40-50 million price tag and coach them in the way we play.

I know some people will say 'but its not my money' but that's not my point: if we did this then the accusations that we buy success would have validity. At present they don't, because Utd. for example keep spending big on people like Maguire, Pogba etc. and haven't won anything for 4 years.... so I can say to my Utd. friends - 'it isn't all about money' yet if we buy Kane they will come back at me and say "it is".

Couldn't give a toss about accusations , the club will spend what it sees fit and buy the players it can. If the club are happy to spend, then I'm happy.

I couldn’t give a fuck what Utd fans say or think, nor the media.

All I want is for City to win as much as possible every season. That means we need to buy the best available players, and that costs big bucks. So what? The media and other teams hate us anyway and find ways to belittle our achievements, so fuck ‘em all.

We need a proper lethal striker, I don’t give a shit if that cost £200m, or we spend £500m on three players in one transfer window. I hope we do. We certainly need Kane or Haaland.

So Man City shouldn't buy Kane so you don't fall out with your friends lol

That is taking one part of my post and making me sound silly.

Please consider the whole thing that I wrote, not just the last bit. But to confirm - at present I think our record signing is Dias at 65 million. Utd. have just spent 10 more or Sancho. They have several players who cost more than our top signing and they keep giving big contracts to aged players or players who have lost it (De Gea). Yet Utd. still try to call us out for being an 'oil backed club'.

They can't really justify that whilst they keep spending more than us - but if we bought Kane for 120 million plus Jesus, for instance, then that argument could become a valid one and I just don't want that.

Bottom line is, I don't think we need him. Give Ferran Torres a run at No. 9. Heck, keep playing a 'false nine' - we just blitzed the league with that system and we didn't lose the CL because we lacked a 'proper' striker, we lost it because Pep had a brain fart and changed a winning system in the midfield area.
