Harry Kane

I have reached the conclusion that Haaland has somewhere else in mind and that's Pep's first choice has been Kane all along.

That's based on a couple of things of late, one being told that City had approached Spurs last summer for Kane and then came again in January.

That doesn't strike me as City just covering their arse on Haaland, who had been giving us very positive feedback even just a couple months back.

If anything, it sounds like Haaland has been the fall back sounding out in case Kane wasn't a goer.

Seems like Pep wants a all ready made world class striker which Kane is plus premier league proven. Where as Haaland is in the world class bracket but would be more of a project for Pep

Trying not to think about Messi, but Barca are in right mess, I just can’t see how they sign him to a new deal without crippling the club

You are using common sense.

Barca are in this hole because they don't have any.

Just because City are valuing Kane at £100m and claiming not a penny more, I still have my own belief that they have a figure above that they have up their sleeve.

The two problems with Haaland is availability(I don't get any real impression he is itching to move this summer and Dortmund aren't going to sell two key players in one transfer window) and any additional fees included in the deal. Kane does look another steep transfer fee but we can knock Spurs down a bit in performance clauses.

I think the club therefore have got it the wrong way around.....

Pep is potentially thinking short term as he will only be here another couple if seasons probably

Ultimately though Pep doesn’t decide, influence yes. Personally think the whole Haaland package has been seen by the club as too expensive and possibly long term too much hassle. We also don’t know the clubs longer term expectations and hopes of Delap.

I'm sure when Pep agreed to sign his extension, it was because the club promised to deliver what HE wanted.

In two years time he possibly walks either way, because he has added the Champions League trophy and at least another league title, or because he accepts that having been given the players he wanted, he came up short?

On this occasion, Pep decides, makes his preferences known.
