it’s not a simple question. It needs breaking down.

1. Do you want to give a rival team 100 million or more? I don’t.

2. Do you want a striker that gives you 4 years and possibly more but no guarantee due to his injury record? I don’t, I want 6 years guaranteed from our purchase. Kane is 28.

3. Do you want a lethal finisher? 100%

4. Do you want to miss out on Haaland due to him coming in? I don’t.

Is it also fair to ask if you'd like to see him at Chelsea, Liverpool or United? I don't! I'd rather see Spurs with 100 million to waste.

He's about to come into his prime as a 28 year old who's fully proven he can score plenty of goals in this league with players who are inferior to ours.

I also believe we could manage his injuries/playing time better.

It’s bigger than player sales mate. They desperately need 100 mil just to keep afloat. If nobody paid for Kane they’d be utterly screwed financially and it could see the end of them as a top team for at least a decade.

i go on watching games , stats cant really prove anything 100% , many variables , nobody knows how it would transfer to playing for us , does he press enough ? Does he take control of games , lots of things make a player , i will check with merlin before i post again , cats rule :)

We don’t know for sure the situation with Haaland. Txiki and co will have a much better idea. Everything we hear suggests a shed load of ifs and buts though.

If we have to “make do” (haha) with Kane - at a fair price - I for one won‘t be crying. He’d suit us just fine and almost certainly deliver a lot of goals over the next 3 or 4 seasons. Even some penalties! Given our current wastage rate in front of goal, I can see those goals making the difference to keep us right there among the trophies.

We‘d have loads of time to think about his successor and, in the meantime, other serious runners will surely emerge.

I said ages ago that its not a bad world when Kane was our back up option to Haaland, and I still feel exactly the same.

I would seriously LOVE us to sign Haaland, and I don’t doubt for one minute that we have made every effort to see how the land lies, but if it isn’t to happen then I won’t be crying myself to sleep when Harry pulls on a blue jersey, he will bag a fucking sackful playing for us.
