Harry Kane

Do we?
Kinell when did that happen?
It's funny because we are at the moment by other fans because they think it rules us out of buying Kane. The amount of times i've seen rag and chelsea fans saying, "City won't buy him they never spend that much they would rather buy a £60 million player" is unbelievable at the moment. Funny how narratives change lol.

That's hardly praise though?

I'm sure if Haaland was getable we would have gotten him..
Has the “gotten him” window opened yet and I missed someone else having “gotten him”?

Maybe he stays another year now they’re in the CL, and they only sell Sancho?

Maybe he’s holding out for Real Madrid and needs to wait for Benzema to have one last season after the Euros?

Maybe he’s waiting to discuss things until the season is over?

Maybe we HAVE “gotten him” and City have required radio silence because they dint want to upset their apple cart with a CL Final in the works?

The list of maybes is endless, but how about we at least wait until the season is over and the window is open and people are free to discuss players who are NOT coming to the end of their contracts, eh?!

One thing Kane potentially has over Halaand is being a better mentor for Delap. More experience and I think Delap would naturally be an understudy to Kane whereas Alfie’s lad is pretty much the same age as Liam so not sure how the dynamic would work, if at all

That happens in every league, including players that go from the PL to other leagues. The majority of players that perform well in the Bundesliga leave to continue performing well in other leagues, including, err, the best player of our own team.
Phil foden came through the ranks fella

Delap literally likes every post by Haaland on Instagram

How can a player that scores 30+ goals a season in a shit team and probably 10+ assists per season not improve our team. Really I don’t get the fact that some city fans are blinkered. This season having no striker has worked for us. But if Gundogan hadn’t had that 2 month purple patch who knows where we would have been. So in my opinion, one of the top 3 strikers in the world greatly improves our team.

What is "greatly" supposed to mean here? How do you improve "greatly" a team that may have the best season an English club has had this century? What are we supposed to expect from a greatly improved team next season? The quadruple and 40 wins in a row?

To expect a great improvement with Kane is to shit on the current team and think City have been lucky this season. It's difficult to improve a great team. Kane is a top striker and can do it. But it's virtually impossible to greatly improve a truly great team, unless you are prime Messi.

Imagine that we had Kane vs PSG. He replaces Mahrez (Foden, Bernardo, KDB...) and we are a much better team? Right? Mahrez scored 3 goals though, Foden was wonderful, Bernardo was vital, Kevin's one of the best players in the world. It's naive to think that by replacing one of these players with Kane we will be a much better team.

I'd be happy if we signed Kane/Haaland. We'd be better with them because they are great strikers. But much much better? Don't think so, provided that we win the CL. It's virtually impossible to greatly improve a (potential) treble winner. It's one thing to improve it, it's a completely different thing to greatly improve it. You are conflating both things as your first and your last sentence clearly show.

Real talk right here ...

Is it really a controversial opinion to hold that the biggest hole in our team this season has been the striker position, and getting one of the best players in the world in that position is a huge boost to this already amazing team?

Of course we would be much better. Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham all significantly underperformed this season. In Europe PSG, Juventus, Barcelona and Real probably won’t win their leagues. That won’t be the case next year and a world class striker will certainly make the difference. Only my opinion but yes I still believe a great player improves our team greatly. Maybe we would have won FA cup with Harry Kane. Maybe we will miss out on champions league because we don’t have a world class striker. I hope not but struggling to understand why some people down on him. I bet only Messi, Ronaldo and Lewandowski have better records. Let’s agree to disagree.

People talk about resale value but then seem happy to pay £60m for Lewandowski who is 5 years Kane’s senior, and I think Kane is right up there with him. The more I think about this transfer the more I think it makes sense.

Kane at United or Chelsea would significantly improve them, where as I am not convinced Haaland is an option for them just yet, given the competition for him around Europe.

Maybe the Plan is to bring Delap through over the next few years behind Kane to take over in 4 or 5 years.
I like Haaland & Mbabbe more too like others on here but they are unproven in England & Raiola will be trying to move Haaland on in 3 years again.
Every signing has pros & Cons.
Kane is proven in our league & mint at Pens.
That's been a problem. We've missed 11 over the last 2 seasons ffs.
He's Good in the air too which we lack in forward positions.
