I just don't understand these fans who don't want Harry Kane. Madness.
 
Kane would be the more sensible signing for next season in that he would give us an immediate domestic advantage; it would also allow us to carry on playing with more technically gifted midfielders and condense the pitch. However, if that system is to be fleeting and we are to progress to a faster and more open style, then Haaland would be more sensible.

But.......... it does seem that Dortmund won’t sell this summer and the wages haaland wants are HUGE! Plus we would have the riola circus every couple of years if erling does well and then no doubt he would want to move to Spain in a few years? Kane wants to come to city it seems, doesn’t want to go abroad and has a professional and calm personality? Oh, he also scores a shit load of goals!

Not denying any of those points, simply looking at it purely in football terms and not on extraneous circumstances.
Haaland has greater pace and youth on his side, so his style would be better suited to building around Torres/Foden/Jesus and even Sterling, yet we no longer have a midfield capable of playing up and down the full length of the pitch.
Kane’s style would be better suited to the current make up of the team.However, I’m not convinced that that style of football will be quite as effective over the next couple of seasons.
There are footballing merits to both and whichever we decide on will dictate how our football develops.

Fair points Ray,but what if Ings did get twenty goals a season,and what if ten of them were match-winning goals?
that would surely be an improvement as it could mean an extra twenty points or a succesful semi-final.

He won't be able to that. He struggled at Liverpool and there will be a lot more expectancy, especially with replacing Aguero
 
I would love to get him signed. But sadly it won't happen. Not as long Txiki is the technical director. We never did make those kind of signings under his regime. If it was Gary Cooks I would trust him to get it done. But not Txiki, he rather stays in the 60 mil ballpark for talents who could become world-class (sometimes).

Txiki does the deals he's told to do. Did he not do £60m plus deals at Barca?
