Harry Kane

The rags are much stronger than last season, fact, but the one enormous weakness is still there are will prevent them from improving, Little Ole, as long as he stays nothing will change.

Weird situation to give him a new deal with the likes of Conti twiddling his thumbs.
I put on here yesterday that there is a rumour the long contract is to do with Haaland going there next summer.

yes the problem is ole himself. I think with him they are not going to win much never mind anything. But he has exceeded expectations for sure. He was better than i thought.

Pressure's on their gaffer now, too. You don't spend like this without an expectance of trophies in return. Can he handle it? Unlikely.

But that's their issue, they could have 11 world class players but they have a traffic cone as a manager.

Look at the difference Tommy T made to Chelsea, they looked lost at the end of Lampard's tenure but in a matter of weeks were transformed by a high class coach.

If the rags had appointed Conti this summer, to me he would automatically make them contenders.

That twat Goldstein was on about this on Monday. Sicophantically yapping on about how they're different to every other club and that they appoint within because of the history of the club, and whilst paper boy was an appointment outside of the club, his history within it made him the appointment that fits the clubs ethos. Made me wonder if i'd imagined Moyes, Van Gall and Mourinho. He also said it's significant they got him in on loan, and it proved what a pull the club is to him.

What. A. Cock

I've only just watched the full Kane/Neville golf interview. (I know, I know)

Not a cat in hells chance he's still a Spurs player next month.

It would make them contenders, and sooner or later when they realise ole doesn't make them contenders they'll get a better manager. I've accepted they will be pushing us in the next season or two. Doubt it will be this season though.

Pep wants a proven player? Not so sure, maybe true with Kane but Grealish to me will be very much a Pep project in action, I don't and for that matter hope we will see the Villa Grealish, the City version will be completely reinvented.
hopefully so

I think Pep wants a prvoen player to replace Sergio......thats what I meant....and thats why he is wanting Kane over Haaland....

I peronally think its a bit of a mistake ....Kane will score plenty however.

Haaland is available at a price.....he setup one of their goals so we didnt shut him down and he bullied ruben off the ball...how many strikers will do that?....but its more than about one game as Kanes record against us aint great either.
Kane hasnt got a great record against the top teams thats there in stats as well......poor against 4 of the top 6 (exceptions are Arsenal and Leicester)...people keep making an excuse that he is palying for spurs (they arent a good team apparently) yet in the last 5 games vs spurs we have won 3 and lost 2 (2020-2021) - kane didnt score any either btw.

Haaland is the fastest and youngest player to reach 20 champions league goals (in just 14 CL games)....kane took 24 games to do this as a comparrison

But again its not just about the stats or one off games..

I beleive Haaland is more mobile and would fit into a fluid front 3...whereas Kane isnt/cant..yes he drops deep and links play very well (Haaland also can do this) but I think Kane makes us more rigid in attack

He has less pace than haaland and though we dont play on the break that much there are times its useful...Kane aint quick and looks like he is getting slower. think about the possibiility of Haaland with Edersons quick releases/long passes. Haaland is also clearly the more physically stonger player as well

Kanes injury record around his ankles is a concern .......that aint getting better and it reoccurs most seasons at some point - yes we maybe able to rest him....but it may also be forced on us at some point.

As ive said, Kane will score lots of goals for us but in the moments that count, the one off games Id rather have Haaland.....or even wait a year (though that aint going to happen unless levy really digs his heels in and insists on pricing him out of a move)
Really good post!

Even that knob's from Forest. The united way...

Random question but completely related to the debate in this thread.

If Alan Shearer was 27/28 and playing in the Premier League today - how big a fee do people think we'd have to pay to get him?

Bloody hope not
He might if we get Kane, think it will be Chelsea, united, maybe Bayern or Psg if Mbappe goes to Madrid. Think that's about all there will be for him next summer. Won't be our problem, unless we don't get Kane, in which case we might be in the ring too.

I keep reading this comment from people who don't want Kane and it really is some confused reasoning. We're not a modelling agency recruiting models. We're recruiting footballers because we're a football club. If you tell me that the guy we're buying will do the job that he's being bought to do, then tell me you still don't want him, it makes me wonder what on earth you're actually talking about ...
