Harry Kane

No way, city don't do that. Even if it's true you'd be hard pushed to find city fans that actually agree with that. Tapping up is what the media clubs do, lfc, bayern, Utd.

I really think, (and it does look like) , kane just wants to win things after years of stagnation that seriously looks like it will continue.

It's v nice though that kane and grealish have chosen city as the vehicle for success and not one of the traditional clubs. Its a major change for football in this country, but we're not doing what utd did with Rooney or lfc with van dijk.
I have no problem with tapping up, every club does it, we have many times.

The press will do that when he comes to us anyway.
We've already been accused of causing this by snide sports.

How dare a club want a player from another club, it's unheard of.
not interested in the UK press/media, they have no credibility whatsoever.

Or alternatively, he and Spurs are aware of the interest, but Spurs are not holding their end of the 'gentleman's agreement', forcing Kane's hand.
Trust goes BOTH ways
Tell me about this gentleman's agreement? Id say it was "we will listen to serious offers if one comes in" not "we will sell you to anyone for any price". We heard Levy talking about it openly to Eriksen, Modric talked about it in his book.

Fair play, I hadn't seen that, but it explains why the guy on spurs was getting so upset about it. If a deal does happen I'd expect it to be for over £100m (especially if we bid that for Grealish) which is why I was surprised to see this figure being mentioned.
See I'm not here to troll you, I popped on to see how happy you guys would be to get him, again I have no issue with him leaving.

£970m

All the more reason to screw as much as we can out of you or United.

Incidentally I noticed the price went up from £150m to £160m overnight.

Think about that £160m. That is a crazy amount of money.

If he goes, we'll do ok. Maybe not this season but we will recover. We always do.

My gut feeling is that Levy feels he can sit this one out until the end of August.

This could be 10,000 post thread.

What's that got to do with anything as of right now Kane is not for sale?
Don’t be obtuse, of course it’s relevant. I agree he’s not for sale but the fact he has skipped training, allegedly with no health excuse, means he wants to go. On that basis the options seem to be (a) we offer what Levy wants (b) someone else does or (c) HK stays and is happy to stay or (d) HK stays and is unhappy. Anyway we have clearly different views. I could personally be happy with option (d)

Seen the claim on talkative website that Loe Lewis and Sheik Mansoor are quite pally after doing business together. Comes from Harry Rednapp
Probably but Lewis doesn't really have much to do with the club anymore, I doubt he would be involved directly in negotiations, hes 84.

Keep saying you or United as if they are in the race. Your only hope to sort this mess is us. Levy will take his money and go about his business as usual. And yeah, I'm sure you'll recover, might finish top 6.

Depends what your definition of doing okay is I suppose.

Again I am happy for him to be sold at a price that reflects his stature, his remaining contract and what he will do for City, its that simple.

Trying to keep your best player has to come with a plan. These man couldn't hire a manager to save their lives, crawled to Nuno in the end and now expect a Wolves sacked manager to try and convince the club's most important player to stay. The self awareness is so lacking.
