Harry Kane

Hopefully not.
I can see Kane and his representatives threatening Levy with the Webster ruling. If, and none of us know for sure, that there was this gentleman’s agreement between Levy and Kane, and Levy has reneged on it, I would think Kane is within his rights to use the ruling as leverage.
Agreement most definitely, Kane wouldn’t behave like this

I appreciate they’ll be absolutely nothing amateurish about our dealings.
The whole deal for both players just doesn’t seem to follow our existing strategy.

I am interested to see how both players become wank when we sign them. In the eyes of all those that loved them 6 weeks ago.
Take it with a pinch of salt, but I read somewhere on here that Miguel Delaney (yep him) has suggested that the word is that City are done with being Mr Nice Guy. So now the club is throwing it's weight around.

Look dude.... Our attitude today is a result of being called FFP cheats, an oil money club who were only founded in 2008, a club with no history, the counting banner displayed by our neighbours showing how long it'd been since City won a major trophy, to the disgraceful racist behaviour toward Sterling from rival fans & the press, JUST BECAUSE he decided to leave the media darlings Liverpool.

We've ran our club to the best of our ability, & have been self sufficient & self funding since 2013/14. None of this matters. If Sheikh Mansour had come along & done the same to Spurs, as he's done for City, would you be complaining? Would you be telling him to shove his oil money up his greasy, terrorist arse? No, probably not.

People like you come across like a bitter mate who can't be happy for his friend who's just won the lottery. All the 'The money's changed you' is purely laughable bollocks. Of fuckin course the money has changed us! Wasn't that the point???? If so, why are you so jealous because of our good fortune?

City has it's element of dickhead, embarrassing fans like all clubs do, but in the main we're a decent bunch. A decent bunch who can remember the 3rd Division playoff final against Gillingham, & taking 250,000 fans to York City away that season. Painful days which are still etched in the memory of us all.

I'll tell you how bad it is.... Today I saw that 68% of fans expect City to win the league this coming season. However, as a lifelong Blue many of us still look toward 40 points before we can relax for the season. Incredible, but true.

If rival fans changed their attitudes toward City, you'd get a far better attitude back from us. I'm sick of all the "Empty seats" & "You bought the trophies you won" jibes, & the rest. Why is it no other team has bought their success, but City doing the exact same as others before us, have?

You all supported the introduction of FFP to stop City, without realising we'd just crossed the moat before the drawbridge was pulled up. FFP won't/can't stop City, but it WILL stop another City from happening. If you had a wealthy benefactor buy Spurs, you'd be fucked, because you couldn't invest what was needed to turn Spurs from the perennial bridesmaids, into the bride.

Think about it fella. Take all the time you need. We're not your problem. You lost Berbatov, Modric, Bale, Walker & could possibly lose Kane for the same reason..... Your top players wanted to win honours, & don't see Spurs as achieving this on a regular basis, so they moved on.

Did you go on ManUre's, or Madrid's fans forum to bemoan the money you received for these players, & how big money was ruining football? I bet you didn't. Why? Because you probably acknowledge there is a European level of elite teams above Spurs. If Kane was touted as going to Real, Barca, Juvé, ManUre or the Scouse Bin Dippers, would you be on their forums whining on about it? Probably not. Why? Because you probably accept this is just the natural order of things, & it's just what the elite clubs traditionally do to teams in the chasing pack.

Where you're getting all twisted is because you still cannot accept Manchester City are also an elite club. Not just on paper, but because of the recent success we've had & the excellent governance at the club. We've grown up & progressed bruv. If you can't be happy for us & hope the same good fortune comes to North London at some point in the future for yourselves, then is it any wonder you're perceived as coming across as bitter & jealous?

Again think about it? Take all the time you need....

Fantastic

Every single transfer window without fail there's always the bullshit topic brought up of "x player could buy himself out of contract with the Webster ruling"

It's never ever going to happen. Every single club knows the catastrophic consequences both financially and in terms of power shift if a major player for any team were to do this. No club will touch that player because they don't want to be the ones that fuck it for everybody. He may aswell just retire if he's contemplating using the Webster ruling because he won't have a club to play for if he did.
The point being made is that it can be used as leverage for the player.

I am 57 in October and been following City for as long as I can remember.

Jimmy Hills wage campaign, £100,000 footballers were a thing when I first started attending Maine Road.

Bosman, Premier League, Champions League and endless substitutions and far too many other things have happened in that time, don't get me started on VAR, to recall in my Holts addled memory.

Things that we never thought we would see have happened, Levy appears to be on the cusp of a revolution that no other chairman will thank him for in the future if Kane invokes the Webster ruling. There has to be a first, how high profile if the England captain was that very one. This could be a line in the sand moment for the game. The common gripe these days is that the players have too much power, imagine if this ruling became common place 'player power' wise.

@Dribble

Thank you for your long post. It gave me great pleasure and deserves a response.

That is really your problem. Not mine. Or anyone else's. I agree the Liverpool fans were disgusting.

Of course not. It is not a secret that Spurs is being set-up for sale to one of the Big Tech giants. Hence the American Football. Whether that will happen who knows?

People like you come across like a bitter mate who can't be happy for his friend who's just won the lottery. All the 'The money's changed you' is purely laughable bollocks. Of fuckin course the money has changed us! Wasn't that the point???? If so, why are you so jealous because of our good fortune?

In a previous post, I tried to explain that your good fortune helped Spurs break into the top 4 by knocking out first Liverpool and then Arsenal and then United. This allowed Spurs in. And now there is a top 6.

There is a section of fans that do mock the less fortunate. You explain why above. It does not define the club but it exists.

Agreed.

Also your typo, intentional or not, is very true. Every City fan I meet claims to have been there that day. A bit like the famous Sex Pistols concert.

I'll tell you how bad it is.... Today I saw that 68% of fans expect City to win the league this coming season. However, as a lifelong Blue many of us still look toward 40 points before we can relax for the season. Incredible, but true.

I feel it. I am a Spurs fan. I cannot relax even at 3-0 up (see West Ham, etc)

If rival fans changed their attitudes toward City, you'd get a far better attitude back from us. I'm sick of all the "Empty seats" & "You bought the trophies you won" jibes, & the rest. Why is it no other team has bought their success, but City doing the exact same as others before us, have?

I agree.

Some people on here might suppose I believe that but I don't. Spurs are not competing for the title. But I do want the best for Spurs and that is screwing you or United for as much money as we can for Kane. City are not relevant to Spurs. We can't compete with your cash and nor do we expect to beat you.

I stand to be corrected but I think Spurs were one of the few clubs that did not support FFP. Levy's view was that it might discourage a potential buyer.

Think about it fella. Take all the time you need. We're not your problem. You lost Berbatov, Modric, Bale, Walker & could possibly lose Kane for the same reason..... Your top players wanted to win honours, & don't see Spurs as achieving this on a regular basis, so they moved on.

Yes. It is the business model. It is part of the plan.

That is why the Italian centre back signs for us. If he is as good as he says he is, he'll get his move to United or Real Madrid or whoever in a couple of years and Spurs make a few quid.

I did. Banned from them all. I was slightly more cruel to them than I have been here. They are a bit thick.

I think you should consider yourself an elite club. If you don't, that could explain some of the spikiness on here.

I don't really feel bitter or jealous. It is not my intention to come across like that.

My intention is to appear arrogant and patronising.

Again think about it? Take all the time you need....

Thank you. I have done that.

God, I love isolation.

If there's a deal here, it was done months ago. Which would mean that what we are watching play out now is all a put-on farce, a theatre.

City doesn't part ways with their legendary striker in such a public way, months before the transfer window without assurances. City knew who they wanted, knew that they wanted City, knew what the wages and the price was to be and was ok with it.

Nobody has said that this deal is not happening.

Harry is skipping training and not being fined for it. Because he is supposed to miss the match at WHL.

Levy is then allowed to not be the villain here and it looks like he was trying his best to keep Kane, and then when he couldn't keep him the delay was due to the hard bargaining taking place. Face saving Kabuki theatre for Spuds supporters.

Meanwhile Levy either gets to do business to rebuild his squad without being seen as bargaining from a desperate position and having 100M+ in his back pocket... Or he just pays down their enormous debt millstone (that will surely be yet another reason we don't see Spurs as serious contenders for honours in the years to come)
