I suspect that our negotiators have a plan B and that Kane isn't the be all and end all. We'll all probably be surprised with an announcement telling us that a player we haven't even thought about has been bought.

Wonder if we are seeing a bit of ‘post Pep’ playing out here. Pep wants Kane as he wants to have another go at the champions league and is only interested in his last two years. Beyond two years is not his problem, so age and cost not in his thinking. The board supporting Pep are willing to go to a certain amount to get him, but have their own ceiling. If Pep is off in two years which is looking likely then the board would prefer a younger ‘project’ that will serve us ‘post pep’ and a new manager. Pep also mentioned about the future in one of his statements. Just think the board are looking longer term now with purchases.

Nah, I don’t really buy that. City have been priced out and that’s the end of it.

But then again, it may not be the end of it and it’s a planned brief from Spurs to give them more time to secure players.

You may be right. I thought the younger project was already here in Delap?

Oh and it's August 25th. Would have rather they moved on to buying a younger project in maybe June....
