Your key word there is " discernable" that is , " able to be wise "and certainly United have not been wise. Wisdom is a deeper level of knowledge. Discernment or wisdom is very lacking in their whole approach to scouting and transfers as you say. With City it does seem to come more naturally as there are hardly any duds with our signings . But it's also ingrained from Pep at the top down to every single member of staff . The quest is always on to improve, get better , grow, etc etc and that feeds onto the pitch. We hear it from Pep every second or third week at press conferences. Theres an air of humility too . That's wise. When you win you enjoy and boast a bit but then you're straight back to the banal and " we have to get better " mentality . Grounded. No egos .To be honest, I think agents know that United are the most gullible football club on the planet, without a discernable scouting or recruitment plan, and if there is even a whiff on interest from us they can get them on the phone and add a couple of £10ms to the transfer fee and a £100ks to their own paycheck.
I've always said you can't really judge the players that end up there based on the performances for United, because they don't have the management or coaching or facilities to judge them compared to what they'd look like if they played for us. I imagine, for instance, Fred would look like a completely different player if he'd worked alongside Fernandino in a team with a proper pressing system in front of him. And I dread to think what Rodri, who for me has been one of our players of the season so far, would like if you lumped in him that United team.
You know I thought that back in the summer before the saga ended, but now I'm a bit more on the fence.I fully expect City to go back in for Kane at around £80m, especially if Raheem is moving on.
I hope you’re wrong.I fully expect City to go back in for Kane at around £80m, especially if Raheem is moving on.

Especially as he now looks like hes lost 2yds of pace?Let's hope not, that ship has sailed for me and I would rather we looked elsewhere.
I suspect lots of us who initially wanted him (at the right price) now feel the same. His current struggles may turn out to be a dip but he’s acquired the smell of dead meat over the last few months.Let's hope not, that ship has sailed for me and I would rather we looked elsewhere.

Newcastle is not unrealistic, nor would it necessarily be a bad move for either club or player.
And that's the question looks like or has. Is he proper pissed at Levy? Maybe it's his way of getting out who knows.Especially as he now looks like hes lost 2yds of pace?
he is doing a good job if its a pretence, trouble is no one will come in for him if he scores 5 or less goals this season lolAnd that's the question looks like or has. Is he proper pissed at Levy? Maybe it's his way of getting out who knows.
We might if we know that is what he is doing. We may know in January.he is doing a good job if its a pretence, trouble is no one will come in for him if he scores 5 or less goals this season lol
I don’t think we’ll go anywhere near that figure again. We might indeed fancy it.
Won't get him though, no way. They'll know that, in which case, what would be the point in trying.
It would need to be the same 120-130m offer we were supposedly prepared to go to in the summer. Which isn't worth it (wasn't last summer either) but now there are more comparable options.
Damaged goods now, we should be nowhere near the guy.I don’t think we’ll go anywhere near that figure again.

We walked and this should be laid as a warning to other clubs.
Kane never wanted to leave for money he wanted to win something. At his age he doesn't have that time to do it at Newcastle.I suspect lots of us who initially wanted him (at the right price) now feel the same. No, it's only my opinion but I think he has already demonstrated that he values the adoration of the Spuds fans too much to walk just for money. He knows he would go from club legend to poriah. If the none of clubs capable of winning things now come in for him, do you not think he'd rather win nothing for a lot more money?
I'm pretty sure that the guy has more money than he'll ever reasonably need at this stage. His driving force must be trophies now. I'd rather we didn't go back in for him now, after the saga in the summer. If the none of clubs capable of winning things now come in for him, do you not think he'd rather win nothing for a lot more money?
True, but now there's possibly an added desire of just wanting to get out of Tottenham.Kane never wanted to leave for money he wanted to win something. At his age he doesn't have that time to do it at Newcastle.
