Harry Kane

Kane’s gone in January has to be. Conte apparently sees Vlahovic as a priority for Tottenham. Wants a striker, midfielder and defender in January from reports yesterday and today. Only way they get funds for that is a Harry Kane sale as Fiorentina want 70 to 80 million for Vlahovic. Levy has also promised Conte the funds for the 3 positions.

Spurs are skint only way they get money is Kane. I just think we will go back in for him, Levy will come crawling back. Pep likes Kane and if we could get him for 60 to 70 million i think city would do it. United won’t want him in Jan with Cavani and Ronaldo there. Chelsea have Lukaku. That leaves us really.

id be disappointed if we got him because I think we have a good chance at Haaland, but if Kane does join us and we get a motivated Kane with Pep coaching him he could be brilliant. I don’t care about his Tottenham form right now you don’t go from Golden boot and best playmaker to shit over the summer the quality is still there. Plus with KDB and Cancelo. The chances we create as a team Kane will score in this City team.
We should go in for vlahovic just to get Conte wound up and fuming with levy and leave them with not only a pissed off Kane but a pissed off Conte.

If we move out Sterling and bring in Kane the team will benefit 100%. Wages will roughly be the same. Outlay will be under 100m now levy has been shown his arse. I trust Pep. Kane will get 20 goals per season no bother in this team. We will function better as a unit and it will take the pressure off the midfielders. I don’t care who he plays for or if he is going through a rough patch. The lad is a quality footballer.

Trust the scouting process it’s been pretty decent up to now. Unless we are trying to get the rags to buy him and in that case we will also win;)

So one minute your saying that Kane would get 20 goals a season for City and is a quality player , but by the end of your post you are saying that we are tricking scum into buying him, and because they do we also get an advantage because they have overspent and he is past it ,am i correct ? because you sort of contradict yourself .

Erm correction, it is 40 goals, guaranteed.

Genuine question (and not related to the exchange of opinion above), do you really still want the club to sign Harry Kane?

Last summer, I can get. But now as things are, do you really want to see him playing for us, even at a conservstive lets call it 120m fee assuming Levy totally caves?
No I don't want us to sign him and I am very sure we won't go back. Pep clearly wanted him though, he's spoke about him for a long time so this idea hes not a player who would fit is just nonsense, City aren't going to force players on him.

However it doesn't change he's still a very good player and as I said, he's had a shit summer with the Euros and then coming back to that car crash of a managerial disaster that only got worse until Conte which is likely to go tits up as well.

Why people think he's just happy go lucky Harry I don't know, there is this opinion players are just robots incapable of being impacted by things which is wrong.

Yes win win for city. Good players turn to shit at the scum.

hes a busted flush imo.

He is a professional footballer, the operative word being professional.
It's a job that is rewarded extremely well for those at the top and the excuse of his heart not being in it doesn't wash. It's a cop out from him and anybody giving him a pass for his disgraceful performances since his move fell through.
I'd accept us going in for him again had he knuckled down and played his heart out for the club he supports and is paid handsomely to do so this season but as he's effectively downed tools he can fuck off.

People who make out that players like Kane are hard done by are living in cloud cuckoo land.
Phil.
You are inherently implying that a Manager or Coaching staff's role includes no 'motivational' element???
Your view on the 'professionalism' aspect is a bit of an over simplification, don't you think?

We all have emotions that can't just be managed with huge amounts of cash. With the best intent in the world, if my best mate shagged my GF (without my consent I should add) and then offered me an obscene amount of money to forget it, I don't think we could carry on as if nothing had happened.

No, I just can’t get behind the idea that he should underperform because a transfer fell through. It happens all the time in football but most players just crack on because it’s part and parcel of professional football.
I was happy at the prospect of him joining us because I thought he’d be a great option for the 9 we need. That was when I was led to believe we had no chance of Haaland though. Things have changed, not withstanding Kane looking like a non league player these days but the Haaland deal looking a bit more promising.
If we do go onto land him then of course I’ll support him because he’s playing for my club and his success would be linked to our success.
It doesn’t mean I don’t dislike how he’s handles the last 3 months though.

I can tell you that Bernardo was so badly impacted by the racism accusation that the club thought he was mentally done, he was so crestfallen by it.

Emotions certainly can come in to the equation when it impacts on-field performance.
