Oshimen would be better value for them but let them throw money away like they have recently done.

Downswing? Yet he's literally having his best goal-scoring season for a few years despite being in a very ordinary Spurs side. And calling someone who guarantees 20-30 goals every season even in an average side a luxury is just complete and utter nonsense.

People like you are the reason why nobody takes Yanks seriously when talking about football. Maybe have a think before you actually type?

He's 24 and has had one top season in a pretty mediocre league. He shouldn't be considered anywhere near that level yet. People did the same thing with Luka Jovic before his move to Real Madrid. Made him out to be a world beater after one great season. Osimhen may go on to be great but at the moment he's anything but proven.

Still has a bit of time to develop and they will get a couple of extra season out of him in the process. Not a player who doesn't have many opportunties left. van Persie was in a similar situation and they got one season out of him.

This may come as a surprise to you but it is possible to disagree with someone without being a jerk about it? You should give that a try sometime.

I know he's having a great goal scoring season. He also turns 30 in a few months. Players decline in their 30's. That's the downswing of his career. Not sure how that is a controversial statement at all.

And yes, he would be a complete luxury in this side now that Haaland and to a lesser extent Alvarez are here. We don't need a striker. Outside of central defender it's the position that we're most set at, and there are other areas of the squad that very clearly need investment. So again, not sure how it's controversial to state that spending a huge transfer fee on another striker would be anything but a luxury.

The more I've seen of Kane, I wish we'd got him AND Haaland together as I think those two would be absolutely unstoppable. Kane is one of the most intelligent players in the world as well as a world class goalscorer. However, it's his all-round general play that impresses me. He could've easily played behind Haaland and just put chances on a plate for him.

As for his age, he's never been quick but it's his reading of the game which means he'll play on I suspect till he's 35/36 - if injuries don't get him first.

However, his boat sailed and he won't be winning the PL, CL in his career. I fully expect him to sign for United as a "step up" but United aren't in a position to challenge us. I suspect he will improve them enough to challenge for 2nd but no more than that.

He will be another player like Gerrard and Shearer who will look back on their careers and wonder "what if". Loyalty is great, but there's no loyalty in football really. Kane will end up trophyless and that's a shame as he's a superb footballer. However, he had his chance and blew it so fuck him.
 
Harry Kane last night was a disgrace - not only was he fouling Gray, and standing on him once he pushed him over, his reaction to the Doucoure push was embarrassing. Obviously it was a red as soon as Doucoure raised his hand, but Kane's part in it meant he lost any respect I ever had for him. He's a cheat, end of, forever seeing him fouling opponents then going on to get a free kick via play acting. So glad he doesn't play for my team, it might go alright for England but he's a disgraceful, play-acting, greedy SOB.
