Harry Maguire

Look little doubt he is a good player and would improve us in the ways mentioned, the problem is the cost as reported and any knock on effects this may have.
This is something we need not worry about. If anything, it's been proven that we will not break our wage structure and policies for anyone. He will only come if he fits the policies. Also, all reports say he would love to play for Pep at city, which probably means wage demand won't be too high.

I can't find a single goal conceded last season after such a long ball. Maybe you forgot about Walker and Ederson...

Here are all 23 PL goals we conceded last season.
Not the best quality footage but good enough to see our weaknesses Pep needs to address:

Reckon around 12 of the 23 goals conceded involved balls in the air at some point.

23 league goals conceded of which 7 of those goals were scored from headers.

Three of those goals were the left back at fault or being beaten in the air (Calvert Lewin, Albrighton and Murray) and two of those goals from diving headers that didn’t require any height (Wijnaldum and Koscielny) to be avoided.

Which leaves just 2 headed goals (Wilson and Luiz) from who the addition of Harry Maguire could potentially have helped us. Yet being the “bestest ever in the air” and stopping us conceding from set pieces is absolutely beyond critical for some posters.

Should we also get rid of Ederson for conceding 2/3 penalties with silly challenges? Thought not.

I merely highlighted those errors, clearly much to the annoyance of said poster and yourself who jumped on the bandwagon, who clearly just want to ignore those incidents and deflect attention (e.g. Stones).

Mr citid... might I respectfully suggest that your persistent (and a tad boring) attempts at proving you are "right" in this forum thread are of little interest to anyone else other than yourself.

However, if it gives you something to do, and keeps you out of trouble, so be it but maybe you can consider this...

As my guru Dale Carnegie wrote many, many years ago,

"The only way to win an argument is to avoid having it in the first place".

As our chairman quite rightly said “I believe, quite comfortably, if the process is going to be judged on facts then unquestionably we (or in my case “I”) will prevail. Only facts have been presented to defend my opinion, so please do me a favour and tell the aggressors of said arguments please.

Oh and the saying is true, you should take note some time.

............and a partridge in a pear tree.

I don't see how slabhead would've prevented any of those goals. In fact, his lack of pace and clumsy style of play would probably have caused us more problems.
Can you define clumsy style of play?

Im old enough to remember Viv Anderson over at them lot getting the jitters quite a few times when the ball used to come his way. However, Maguire despite his strengths and weaknesses being clumsy is a new one.
Which part is of his game is clumsy?
