Fair enough the concerns about Maguires pace, I don't think he's actually too bad in that department. In fact he is not the first or last CB that would find it tricky against pacy forwards. If I recall de ligt got done for pace for England's first goal and also turned like Jan Molby on roller skates when either sterling or sancho megged him in the middle of the field. Not many are questioning his pace today and though?

To be honest, I'd prefer a raid on Leipzig for one of their CBs. I get the Maguire appeal, but value doesn't seem correct

I don't know why people are even taking the £90m figure seriously.

We obviously won't pay that and I think anything north of £60m we'd walk away from. I still think this is too much, but can see the club offering something in the £50-60m range.

We've shown we won't pay more than we think the player is worth and it's been reported that Leicester's current valuation is too high.

annoys me seeing reports that we're in for him. He's a £35 million defender at best. Some far far better CB's out there for a fraction of what leicester are asking. Really hope this is just paper talk

Although arguably one of are best defenders I don't see Pep thinking in terms of Laporte and one other each week. History shows sometimes to are detriment he is prepared to rotate the centre backs at will. Ottamendi and Stones featured a lot during are Centurion winning season, Kompany less so. Komps did not feature a lot this season yet several games before the end of the season Pep put him in regularly.
Therefore I think it's very unlikely that you will see Laporte consistently hold down a CB position. Too many games, not Peps style and he appears to pick the defender he feels will be better suited to his plan against the opposition.

Utter bollocks, Pep played Laporte in just about every important game, and will continue to do so
