Maguire played well at the Etihad and will be an asset to our squad if he comes imo. Seen plenty of Leicester and England games and he is good at bringing the ball out of defence, but outpacing Gundo is nothing to shout about.

True, although I feel he has a touch of Yaya about him - not in terms of pure skill and completeness, but some skill, a modicum of pace and thunderous presence can do wonders when you’re on a charge.

I've watched the leicester game back as i can't sleep in this heat and Harry is solid enough and does play offside trap well,however this carrying the ball out from the back appears to be based on going past a complete non tackle by gundy,i could have taken the ball that far i reckon,not sure i've seen him do it other than that time

I would like to think that if he came here Pep would suss that out. Stones was similar at Everton and held onto the ball longer than he should have. Positional play is important. Either pass to one of the open options or go back to Ederson.

Many of the greatest CB's have lacked pace. Pep's style is to play high so even the quickest CB's would get exploited if the right ball/run was executed by the opposition. This is another reason why Pep has sweeper keepers at the base of his team.

Got a feeling Stones and Maguire will largely compete for the right sided CB slot... Laporte has the left side bolted down. As you say Stones needs to step up... ideally he needs to come back to pre season like Bernardo did last year and set his stall out and make Pep pick him.

So in that respect, it would make no difference to you, what so ever, if City paid £3m or £300m for Maguire?

Apart from the fact that we have a budget to spend on players, personally, I love City and would hate to see us have our pants pulled down.

So is alright with you if I think that Maguire isn't worth more than £60m, and don't want Leicester to hold us to ransom?

Liecester have every rite to put a big price on there best player it's up to City to negotiate best price, if it gets stupid then we walk, we as fans dont have any say its simple I couldnt careless if we have to break our transfer record, if Pep wants Maguire then back him, to many on here talk about the fee as if they are paying it it's a load of bollocks..

65m will do the trick with 2m league & chumps league & 1m for FA & League Cups & prob 1m after 50 & 75 games total 70m ish

My biggest problem with Maguire is that he's so unbelievably average that I can't understand how he'd seemingly improve this team. I'm not arsed whether he costs £50m or £100m, it's that he doesn't improve this squad or our starting XI.

I see him as someone who's slow on the turn, isn't actually that great on the ball, and has had his lack of speed highlighted by Pep as a weakness.

I'd much rather us just keep Otamendi who's a much better player than Maguire.
