Harry Maguire

Marvin he's absolutely shit. I've said this before but hes slow, fat and cant turn. Imagine him in a Pep system where he has to play twenty yards higher up the pitch.

His use of the ball is overrated, and he's like Wilshere where his second touch is a tackle because he's overran the ball so far with his first.

I'm buzzing that he's going to be alongside Phil Jones and Luke Shaw next season. They'll get ripped apart.
We'll see! They wont get him for £70m for a start and I rate him a lot higher than you do. I do think you're right that defending in a City team is a lot more difficult than at Leicester. He may lack pace but he's a good footballer, and would be a good fit alongside Stones or Laporte.

Maguire is absolutely no where near Van Dijk.

Let the raggies flog ridiculous money for him while we go and snap up someone like Alderweireld. Priced well, loads of experience with some good years left, and would fit the team like glove while we bring along Garcia at our own pace.

Maguire would probably get Manure an extra 8-12 points next season but still not enough to worry us. We should be looking to the future and buying a 20yr old central defender and a similarly aged striker.

Could do without missing out on Maguire to that shower of shit. We baulked at van Dijk's fee and look how that turned out. Let's not make the same mistake again.

When we're looking to improve an already outstanding team and all clubs have money of course it'll be expensive, but if we want to stay the best we have to spend what it takes to keep ahead.
Yeah it turned out really bad didn't it, 2 premier league titles, 2 league cups and a FA cup, let maguire go to the rags for 80m there's cheaper quicker alternatives out there.

Not a fucking chance are we paying that type of fee.
Well then you have to disbelieve that we were ever in for him in the first place because it was always going to take a record fee to get him, and I doubt £70m will be enough.

Why do we need to look for cheaper? Are we champions, CL regulars and absolutely fucking minted or not? All teams have to keep improving, don't rest on our laurels.

I don't believe we were ever in. Its completely against the way we do business.

Like I said above as well, dont think he's a city player in any way or form.

Just because the price is the same doesn't mean he's that calibre of player. As overrated as he is, Van Dijk is so many levels above Maguire it's not even worth comparing them.

I agree, but apart from Alderweireld who we don't seem interested in, there's no-one else out there is there?

If Ota leaves then only two top centre backs is a big risk with us playing so many games.

Agreed, not comfortable enough onthe ball and would take a long time to adapt

Both players will improve them no end though. Maguire will give them a presence and leadership on the pitch they have been sorely missing. Im not fussed if we don't get him, but lets not kid ourselves that he isnt a good player who will improve them a lot.
It's not nailed on that he will improve them, Same goes for Wan-Bissaka, Are they players that can get them back fighting for titles I don't think so. Falcao, Di Maria, Sanchez, Martial, Pogba ect all of those players and numerous others bought for big money and big wages and they've still gone backwards, Nothing is a certainty in football especially when they've a complete and utter fool as they're manager.
Let them bang away buying mediocre players. Maguire likes to try play out from the back, United aren't used to playing that sort of football, If they start trying to do it now it could quite easily come back to shoot themselves on the foot, They haven't the players to do it.
