Hart - Do we want him back or not? [Merged]

Re: Hart do we really want him back

As great as it would be for us, a keeper with a serious claim to the England jersey can not sit on the bench if in good form. He deserves the chance to come back and stake a claim against Given as our first choice keeper.

There again, Mancini can only decide who is No1 after he has seen them both close up. Have a feeling either way one will be looking to move, or maybe both if Mancini does have serious intentions to sign Buffon. Personally I think we'd be mad to let Hart go or sign another International keeper. He fits the profile of the kind of player we want - home grown, hungry for success and loaded with talent that is actually being fulfilled now at a high level.

Re: Hart do we really want him back

Joe has done nothing wrong, we loaned him for the season he was bound to talk about Brum and not us when he spoke a few times, ignore the rest of crap in the media we have the best keeper in england

Re: Hart do we really want him back

he has to show a bit of respect to the team who got him playing better, even though the team is different for him the whole squad have changed ! he has to make new friends as city is not the city he knew back then, for me give the lad a time and a whole season till he makes his place 1st and hopefully with him qualify to champions league where it will be the most important thing happened in his life and no idiot would've snub this opportunity.

Re: Hart do we really want him back

I wouldn't jump the gun getting rattled with whatever comes out of the media. Especially some website covered in cheap ads like that one. There was a video interview on the BBC website late last year, with Joe saying that he was still a City player and his ambition was to play at City. I'm sure he wants to show appreciation to Brum like they have to him, but those quotes seem a but far-fetched to me.

Re: Hart do we really want him back

i just hope he has learned to come off his line and not just be a shot blocker. To be honest he is a class act but I wasnt sad to see him go on loan because i thought he had to learn to dominate the area. In fairness Given has been very weak at controlling his area as well, another great shot stopper but id love a big intimidating keeper who comes out and claim the ball something we havent had since Schmeichel, until then we will find it hard to get a solid back line with confidence.

Re: Hart do we really want him back

Despite leaving close the Birmingham i dhaven't seen much of them this year, so have they really developed any of Hart's weaknesses or is the improvment more down to the experience of playing another season with a stable defence in front of him?
i.e. does he now mix up distribution, decide when to come and when to stay for a cross

every highlight ive seen has been an outstanding shot block nothing more and he never had a problem with that side of his game. I agree hope he has developed further but have a feeling he hasnt

Re: Hart do we really want him back

Birmingham fan here.

He has said those things, both at our End of Season Dinner (he got Player of the Year) and in today's Daily Express. They're not made up quotes.

I don't think that it's that he's necessarily being disrespctful to you lot or saying that he prefers us as a club, I guess it's just that going back up there his position is still far from certain with Given and billions of pounds to spend, whereas with us he's established, an absolute darling of the fans, Play of the Season, England's best 'keeper, etc.

In fairness to him, I think it's understandable for anyone in those circumstances to be a little unsure of going back into the unknown. If he was guaranteed to be first choice for you lot next season, I'm sure he wouldn't be making such comments.

Re: Hart do we really want him back

I thought our days of letting young talented football players leave, and then watch them prosper and become world class players, had gone.

Think it has got even harder for our young talented players to break through so I presume we will follow the same cycle for years to come
