Hart - Do we want him back or not? [Merged]

Re: Hart's constant complaints about coming back

He was treated harshly by Hughes so i am not suprised he wants to play elsewhere.

Joe Hart is too good of a keeper to be sitting on the bench watching Shay Given play.

We keep talking about getting in the greats of the future rather than galcticos now...well joe is just that, a future great.

Re: Hart's constant complaints about coming back

I know the guy who runs Birmingham's website. What Joe actually said was "Can't fucking wait to get away from you scabby bunch of whiny voiced tossers. You can stick your fucking bull ring up your ring" but they edited it a bit for public consumption.

FFS what do we expect him to say to Birmingham? Just like when he bumps into a City fan what do we expect him to say to him?

Given is always going to be suspect now, this is the second time it's happened.
Hart for No.1 Given warming the bench.
Very much this. Once your shoulder dislocates badly then you're in trouble. For a keeper who is constantly diving around that is very bad news. We cannot rely on Given again, we either get Hart back and give him a season as number 1 or if the management team don't rate Hart, they need to get someone else in.

Re: Hart's constant complaints about coming back

Hart was on the ale with the rest of the Birmingham lads in my local after Chester races, watching the City v spuds game. He was fairly vocal in cheering us on for someone who's supposedly lukewarm about coming back to City. IMO, he's as committed as any other player - the age of dyed in the wool 'one club' men has gone lads - Hart, like any other top tier player, will follow the money if it's offered. A while ago, the likes of Gerrard etc were happy to commit themselves to one club, but in this age of mega money, they follow the dough and why wouldn't they? Think what you would do in their shoes?

Re: Hart's constant complaints about coming back

I'd love to see Hart get a chance at City again, but is he the best we could get? I mean, in all honesty, the argument "he's England's nr. 1" deesn't mean all that much to me considering the rather weak opposition.
Compare England's top goalkeepers with the top keepers of the world. It's a rather huge gap of quality between let's say Victor Valdez, Júlio César, Iker Casillas or Pepe Reina and Hart, James, Robinson etc... wouldn't you all agree?

If we want a British keeper then Hart might be the best out there. But if Mancini wanted the best he could get, not considering nationality, would he look else where maybe? I still think Buffon is on the Mancini radar.

Re: Hart's constant complaints about coming back

I could care less what the context is, Hart needs to stop his bleating: he sounds like a whining kid with a chip on his shoulder and it’s time for him to grow-up. I know he was very disappointed that Given was brought in last season but at the time Given did raise the standard of goalkeeping in city’s first team, he also displayed levels of professionalism that Hart would do very well to learn from.

City did the decent thing by sending him out on loan and it has probably benefited City as well as Hart but Hughes as gone and things are different at City. Hart has had a good season and should be displaying the confidence to say he’s looking forward to getting the chance to compete with shay for the number 1 spot at Eastlands. I doubt Shay will be fit to for the start of next season, which means Hart has a real chance of taking and keeping the shirt if he continues to improve as he has this season. Mancini has proved that he won’t favour players because they are more senior. Hart is fortunate to be signed to a club with City’s potential and he should make sure he lets it’s supporters know that he appreciates that fact; if he doesn’t he should slap in a transfer request and we can go and buy Lloris or…

Agree with you 100% he seems to have gone native on us; Mcleish must have had some encouragement to try to force our arm.

I am normally very forgiving of our players just this issue has been getting under my skin more than most issues other than our Brazilian problem.

I'm still struggling to read past the sentence about Ben "the best young keeper out there" Foster being worth £6 million...
