Has anyone actually ever worked for City?

No thanks. It’s not for me.
It should be illegal to sell any other drink at a football match. The hospitality lunches, half-time prawn sandwiches, the after-match nibbles should be swilled down with a cup of Bovril, and out of a paper cup, too!

Saw this job (CFG, as opposed to "pure" City) but what a job it would be. Can imagine we are great employers

Has anyone here ever worked for City?
Worked as a steward but jacked it after 3 years the blue boxes at entrances did my head in MADNESS

Worked as a fire steward for about 5 seasons, got a bollocking for putting information on here as well! Anyway stopped due to ill health for a while and the amount of hours before and after a game they want you, it became more like a job, than a bit of part time, so I went back to my season ticket.

Not sure that’s true. I know more than one city fan who works for the club

Definitely. For one, I'm afraid I've forgotten his first name, but his family name is Pollard. He does the written running commentary on the OS for the matches from time to time, and regularly interviews players at pitch side. He wasn't originally working for City five years back or so — might be more, time is now telescoping horrifically for me now that I'm into my seventies — because he used to be a regular guest on David Mooney's podcast, and I remember him mentioning that he was a teacher once or twice. He was a good guest, too, very astute and balanced in his analysis, and I wrote to David expressing my regret about him no longer being on the show. David replied that he couldn't be, because there was now a conflict of interests.
This got me thinking about starting a thread on here, but it didn't quite seem worth it. But since it's come up, the thread would have been “Would you sincerely like to work for City?” I thought about it quite a lot, just as a hypothetical thing, obviously, and for myself, my answer would be a clear and resounding No. I'd much rather have the total independence of judgement which being a fan gives me. And also the total freedom to speak out — on here.

Edit: just come back to me while writing, as these things do: Rob Pollard.
