Yeah that's it..
It’s looking like it is this now as I’ve bled the radiators and the ones upstairs are red hot whereas the downstairs ones are stone cold
Yeah that's it..
If it’s diverter valve mate they’d all be off does sound like airlock sometimes if you turn all upstairs ones off it will force out to ground floor rads make sure you open TRVs fully if you have them then open upstairs ones and bleed highest radiator. Good luckI phoned a plumber last night and he said an airlock could be the cause of it and told me to bleed the downstairs radiators when the upstairs ones are turned ON, He also said it could be the diverter valve (wouldn’t be surprised as it’s probably the original one when the house was built). I’ll bleed the radiators first though and see if that does the trick

Don't worry too much, plenty of time to sort it.....another couple of months till you need heating ;)I’ve just tried that, still no luck, set the Hive thermostat to 30 degrees too and can hear the boiler working etc and the piping around the pump is hot so the hot water is there but just not circulating through to the downstairs radiators, frustrating
Weird that gotta be honest, if you've shut upstairs rads off its gotta go somewhere. You haven't turned the bypass rad off have you.I’ve just tried that, still no luck, set the Hive thermostat to 30 degrees too and can hear the boiler working etc and the piping around the pump is hot so the hot water is there but just not circulating through to the downstairs radiators, frustrating
Think it may be the pump according to my other half he’s not a plumberI’ve just tried that, still no luck, set the Hive thermostat to 30 degrees too and can hear the boiler working etc and the piping around the pump is hot so the hot water is there but just not circulating through to the downstairs radiators, frustrating
are you a Geordie?I’ve not even started wearing a jacket during the day outside yet, never mind put the heating on indoors.
